Captain Becker Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Hello all again, last time I showed you my first ship in LDD after the "Come back". After that I started on another ship, this time I wanted to make a smaller and try to add some curve into it. I think this is a huge improvement in such a short time that I build this. The ship itself took some time to finish as my wife gave a birth to our son, so the project was in dry dock´s for a while. But now I have finished it, added some small details into it and ready to show it. Comments and Critism are more than welcome. Captain Dee Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 What's visible in this one pic looks pretty good and the color scheme is nice. It's definitely not lacking for firepower - although full custom guns might be more appropriate considering the small size of the vessel. I'll wait for the rest of the photos to offer any other input. Congrats on the baby and keep on building! Quote
Captain Becker Posted June 10, 2015 Author Posted June 10, 2015 (edited) Added some more pictures, the cannons are custom made actually. Heres a closer pictures about the cannon, I decided it would represent 9 pdr, I tried to fit a smaller muzzle but then I had to put more length to the whole cannon and it just looked silly. Heres the cannon: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Captain-Becker/LDD/HMS-Bull/cannon9pdr.png And the parts the cannon needs, not counting the base itself. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Captain-Becker/LDD/HMS-Bull/cannon9pdr2.png Captain Becker Edited June 10, 2015 by Captain Becker Quote
Captain Dee Posted June 10, 2015 Posted June 10, 2015 Ah. Now yer talkin'! She looks very nice overall and having a complete view of the rigging is a huge visual improvement. My apologies regarding the guns - what you have looks pretty sensible to me. All she lacks is a good crew. Where do I sign up?! Quote
Staslegomaster Posted June 12, 2015 Posted June 12, 2015 Very few details can be seen here to get an impressing, so -waiting for more pictures. But why is it yellow? - it's the colour of LEGO mini figures' skin - as with the Simpsons, for example. Quote
Captain Becker Posted June 12, 2015 Author Posted June 12, 2015 The more pictures can be seen in the first post by clicking the "Spoiler" Show button. I chose yellow to be the color because the British Royal Navy ships used Black and yellow combination often, and I just grew fond of it. I tried different color schemes such as: Dark blue and red, also dark green, but I didn't like the look of them very much. Captain Becker Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 brickshelf seems to be down again ... can't see any picture at the moment... Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Brickshelf is up again. Yes, and now I can see your ship. It turned out nice again! Would be fun to build this in real bricks (if I'm allowed to borrow your design) Quote
Captain Becker Posted June 15, 2015 Author Posted June 15, 2015 I have also planned to do so myself when I can. By all means do, Id like to see this ship in real bricks as well. I might add and change the design yet over time. All im asking is to get credits for the desing, thats all. Captain Becker Quote
