SpacerSteve Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 (edited) This creature is called a flea but it's size is similar to a small cat. I uses a strong acid to break down rocks so it can extract what ever nutrients it can. The awesomonium in in the rocks can cause the exo skeleton of this creature to turn a purple color. Its jump is strong enough to escape the weak gravity of it's host asteroid in search of more food. The pads on its feet hold the creature down to the host asteroid so that it wont float away. It is extremely common in Barkers Folly but has also been observed in othe asteroid belts in the Andromeda system. The Flea on it's own. The landscape is the interior of a small impact crater. shmails Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Cool! The flea is creepy and well built, and I really like the description of how it eats. Nice! Quote
LittleJohn Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Excellent flea! Cool landscape too, I like the rockwork Quote
Zepher Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 Awesome flea! Love the head - those red eyes are devious and those feelers are creepy crawly! I specifically love the wings - purple was a great choice, and the whole bulbous feel of the back is awesome. Some weird gaps and flat study areas on the side, but other than that, nice build. Quote
Mark of Falworth Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Superb flea! Excellent work here, man! Quote

mccoyed Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Reminds me of the big artillery bugs from Starship Troopers! Quote
Big Sal Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 Wow, amazing flea! You really captured the exoskeleton well! Quote
Kodan Black Posted June 22, 2015 Posted June 22, 2015 That mouth part is... ugh... but in a good way! Love how you also gave it the bigger rear legs for jumping. Makes me want to get a giant can of Raid! Quote
