Commander Turtle Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 (edited) Planet: C04 Aeristus Tags: Exploration Commander Turtle uncovered some curiously human ruins on his last mission. He has been recalled for a formal debriefing on Orinshi, while his team are left testing the drones on Aeristus. You're right, this isn't too difficult. Careful there, if you go too fast it might overheat. Oh no! What did I just tell you? You've got to be more careful! Okay, we might need to start over. When do you think C-T will get back? ~~~~ Meanwhile, a train brings Commander Turtle to the Kawashita Group HQ. He has been ordered to meet the mysterious "E", a Vice Admiral and the head of the Exploration division. Vice Admiral, it is an honour to finally meet you. I take it you are Commander John Turtle. Yes, ma'am. Then the pleasure is mine. I have heard many things about you, some of them positive. I hear you captured a fearsome alien, and rescued one of our scientists from certain death. Most importantly, I hear you have absolutely not discovered anything suspicious on Aeristus. Am I correct? Well, mostly. I wanted to speak about Aeristus- Commander John Turtle, I will not have you spread misinformation and half-truths. Kawashita will not pursue your spurious claims, and you will not lie to me. ...Of course. You are at a crossroads. If you play your cards right, you will go far in this company. And for this, I need your loyalty. Are capable of loyalty? I am. Then we will hear no more about this. ~~~~ So, obviously getting thicker into my story. It might come and go a little since I'm getting very busy until September, but I'll do part 3 and on when I get the chance. Maybe once all the challenge building is done I'll have time to do the next part justice! This one started with the microbuild. Featuring an illegal-but-technically-purist build in the train, because the end cap is held on by stickers to the piece of resistance. I think that whole thing came out pretty well. I only wish I had more time to bring the other 2 builds up to the same standard! C&C welcome. And finally, we know Commander Turtle's first name Edited July 20, 2015 by Commander Turtle Quote
LittleJohn Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 I really like that micro scale build! Great rockwork Quote
shmails Posted July 19, 2015 Posted July 19, 2015 Those drone scenes are very funny! The micro scene is real nice, I love the monorail going into the tunnel. However, that chair may be the scene grabber, great design! Quote
Mike S Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Nice batch of builds but the micro is my favorite! Quote
mccoyed Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Awesome micro build, but I also like the menacing Kawashita admiral lady! Quote
Big Sal Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Ha, nice builds and story! The chair is great, but I think my favourite part is the lamp - it's fantastic! Quote
Garmadon Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Nice builds Commander Turtle, but the micro is definitely my favorite! The red and trans-light-blue look superb, and the train and rock-work are great as well! Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 That micro build is really good! Great use of trans-light-blue! The blue and gold scene is nice and colorful too, and I like your use of pink, red, and dark red on the last one! Quote
NuckElBerg Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Nice story and scenes, but what really stands out to me is the microbuild. I think you've really managed to capture both advanced architecture (with the HQ), beautiful landscaping (with the mountain and sparse but great-looking foliage) and a combination of both (the monorail and the bridge), which is no mean feat in such a small build! Kudos! Quote
Commander Turtle Posted July 21, 2015 Author Posted July 21, 2015 Thanks a lot everyone! Nice story and scenes, but what really stands out to me is the microbuild. I think you've really managed to capture both advanced architecture (with the HQ), beautiful landscaping (with the mountain and sparse but great-looking foliage) and a combination of both (the monorail and the bridge), which is no mean feat in such a small build! Kudos! Kind words indeed It's pretty much my first microscale attempt! Quote
