Manned by a crew of 3, the Tia Maria cruises the voids of space, time and beyond, trawling for starfish.

Here are some close-ups and detail views of the ship:

And here's the 3-man crew of the starship, with their space respirator thingies. Except the robot, I'm kind of sure the robot doesn't need air:

This ship was very much inspired by Ian McQue's amazing work.

Oh man, I really love your styling and design sense! It has a Blade Runner meets The Fifth Element sense to it. The ship is wonderful, I love the nets, crane, and all the little details that make it look well used. Great work man!

What amazes me the most about your builds is that you really make a Fabuland cats a convincing alien race in Andromeda!

This build is great. My favorite part is your cyborg cat. There is a lot to like though.

Does the knob on the base operate the crane?

Wow- love it! The layers to detail are fantastic. The pallets on deck are great, and the air hoses attaching the crew gives it both an old 18th century feel as well as retro-future vibe. Very nice all around! :sweet:

Absolutely superb! Great shaping and the accessories and beaten up colours are just perfectly done to make it feel like a working star-ship.

That's a great idea for a ship. I love some of the retro-futuristic stuff that's snuck into AG alongside the more conventional aesthetics. You and Robuko are really bringing that pulpy magazine/paper-back feel to the game.

Thanks a lot for the great comments guys, I had a lot of fun building this ship because I've been looking at Ian McQue's stuff for a long time and always wanted to try to capture that in LEGO.

Cool! I especially like the robot cat. But where are the vacuums?

Vacuums, I knew I forgot something! Nah this is a fishing boat, the vacuums are in another boat. Somewhere. Probably.

Isn't space a big vacuum anyway?

Fabuland cats have always been an alien race, you guys just didn't know it yet :P

Oh yeah the knob it does something, I'll get a video of that tonight.

Cats are aliens trying to conquer earth... :look:

Brute force didn't work, so their actual plan is to soften humans through Youtube videos... Soft humans are easier to surprise attack, and plant claws into.

"Trying"? I think they already succeeded... that's why when my cat mews, I've been conditioned to either provide it with foos tribute, or release it from my house that it might mingle with its fellow feline overlords. :look::purrr:

Your builds have such an incredible vibe and style...so very retro in a 5th Element-ish way.
