SirNadroj Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 (edited) Hello everybody! I'm pleased to anounce Sheriff Nadroj's: The entire WW theme has really inspired to to make some pretty good MOCs, so I thought a WW contest would be a great idea, since nobody has done one yet. The contest will have two categories: Cowboys (which includes : Cavalry, WW Town, etc.) and Indians (which includes any indian-themed MOCs, i.e, totem poles, teepees, etc.) This is going to be a Vignette contest. Here are the rules: 1. Members can enter only one entry per category. 2. The entry must have a base of 8 studs x 8 studs. 3. Parts can overlap. 4. NO LDD's 5. NO custom peices (no megabloks, for that matter, too! ;-) ) 6. Custom decals are allowed. 7. Your sigfig in a western outfit is welcome! (i,e, your sigfig as a cowboy, indian, etc.) 8. Have fun and be creative! 9. PRIZE: I'll PM an admin to see about a special title! :-) But that's contingent on the admin. You know. ;-) DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 22, 2007 EXTENDED TO SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2007 Good luck, everyone! X-D Here's the Entry Thread: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=11251 Edited September 29, 2007 by SirNadroj Quote

oo7 Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 What a fine idea for a contest this is, Sir Nadroj! I assume you are allowed two entries, one for each catagory. I think I could find a good idea or two..... Quote
zouave Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 @ Sir Nadroj, I just saw your mocs and I really like your first one. That was a cool idea to use the exo-force head with the red stripe, it does make him look angry. But the front thing on the end your train looks wierd. Quote
Shadows Posted September 8, 2007 Posted September 8, 2007 Great idea and perfect timing, I just started picking up some misc WW stuff. Count me in! Vignette On! *y* Quote

Brick Miner Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 this looks like a fun contest *y* i'll be excited to see the entries and be a judge. - BM Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) Working on my entries now! *pirate* Edit: Is it okay that one or both vigs include Joe Vig? :-) Edited September 9, 2007 by UniqueBuilder Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Edit: Is it okay that one or both vigs include Joe Vig? :-) Thats fine. I would like it if you gave him a cowboy hat or something so he looks the part, but you don't have to. ;-) Quote
UniqueBuilder Posted September 9, 2007 Posted September 9, 2007 Entry posted! I hope it's okay that I post my entry for the Indian Category later? :-$ Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 9, 2007 Author Posted September 9, 2007 Entry posted! I hope it's okay that I post my entry for the Indian Category later? :-$ Sure, thats fine! You can edit the post with the cowboy entry and put the Indian entry with it. It'll just be easier that way. ;-) BTW, I love your cowboy entry! Poor Joe Vig! :-| I see you put your sigifg in there, great! And we must shop at the same store, except your sigfig's shirts tan, mine's green! ;-) Quote
lego.ryan Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Although I don't own any Wild West stuff, I really think this is a neat contest. I've got my main character built, Lyin' Liz Turner. Some of you might be able to guess what she looks like! ;-) Now I just need to make my vignette and a story to go along with it. My entry should be up by the end of the week though. X-D Quote
WesternOutlaw Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 Excellent contest Sir Nad. I unfortunately have all my WW sets boxed up at the moment as I've been working with City Sea Ports and Boats at the moment. I'll still enjoy seeing the entries if I don't get a chance to build something. Great contest though *y*. Quote
tedbeard Posted September 10, 2007 Posted September 10, 2007 (edited) I'm confused. The rules do not mention any specific characters from the Wild, Wild West. Can we use just Artemis Gordon by himself or do we have to include James West as well? Now, I just have to figure out how to do his classic boot-knife... >:-) Hey, You are the one who called it The Wild, Wild West Contest! Edited September 10, 2007 by tedbeard Quote

I was actually debating whether to call it the "Wild West Building Contest" or the "Wild, Wild West ..." Two 'Wilds' are better than one. :-D Quote
lego.ryan Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 I posted my entry! Please tell me what you think or if there's any errors in the backstory. ;-) Quote

Lasse D Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 When I saw the contest I wanted to build the giant mechanical spider from Wild Wild West, but I think it will be hard to have it stand on a 8x8 plate. Unless it may be Quattro? :-P Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 13, 2007 Author Posted September 13, 2007 I posted my entry! Please tell me what you think or if there's any errors in the backstory. ;-) Wow! I really love your entry! The minifigure is excellent and the background story is wonderful! *y* Quote
