Block_Smarts Lego Technic Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) Hello fellow Bandits and enforcers.... I bring you my new Moc for the TC7 competition! Its called the HelaRider! Transformation -Wheels go up to form propellers(RC) -Doors open to reveal Mini Heat-Seaking missiles and allows the wings to spread out (Manual) -Wings synced with pneumatic and spread out. If you pull out one the other goes out with it.(Manual-ish) Here are some pictures on the parts. Rear bumper on Here is another picture with the bumper taken off. This was my try at making a propeller-like rim. It has an amazing effect when it spins! There is even..... Here is its little story. Before the HelaRider in the bandits camp, the Bandits were having a meeting and the leader suggested that they should have an air vehicle. The air vehicle idea was pretty good, but it could easily be seen and shot down. Then he suggested a stealthy ground vehicle. They decided to combine the two ideas to make something that can transform into something without taking it apart . It was amazing! But it needed a name as cool as the Bandits. "The HelaRider!" Private Blocksmart yelled "It just came to me!" And thus, the HelaRider was born. The name HelaRider did just come to me Here is how the wings work Red and blue lines are hoses and the cylinders are in sync! Here is the video of it Driving and transforming Thanks For reading guys! Good luck to you Bandits and Enforcers in the competition! Edited August 8, 2015 by Block_Smarts Lego Technic Quote
syclone Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) This is one of my favourite entries Should look cool if you retouch it Remembers me to the old technic-bionicle sets Amazing work Only one question: Do the small LA's don't have enougth power to lift the vehicle or it is a designer's choice?(for me it looks like a tumbler ) Edited August 8, 2015 by LXF Quote
Appie Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 While the idea is pretty nice, I don't see how this meets the rules of a normal vehicle and hidden weapons when in 'normal mode'. I also feel sorry for your L motor and IR receiver scraping over the floor. I'd say use the week left in the contest to improve it. Maybe make it a trike? Quote
syclone Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 One last thing: try using another type of wheel in front without any gearing to make from it a cool look carver like this : Also you can try using panels to hide the competition cannon to hide it and not call the attention of Enforcers Quote
Milan Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 (edited) This is certainly the most unique entry so far! Nice idea, but I am not a fan of the propellers, they are far too small (I know it is probably impossible to make different big propeller on this scale) And yes, as Appie said, it is far too open and weapons are clearly visible. You still have a time to hide them better. Edited August 8, 2015 by Milan Quote
aeh5040 Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Now that is one strange looking vehicle! You might want to try reinforcing the chassis and the mechanisms a bit... Quote
Block_Smarts Lego Technic Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 Thanks everyone!! I was worried about not getting much good feedback(Dont know why ). This is one of my favourite entries Should look cool if you retouch it Remembers me to the old technic-bionicle sets Amazing work Only one question: Do the small LA's don't have enougth power to lift the vehicle or it is a designer's choice?(for me it looks like a tumbler ) They do, I just don't have big enough wheels. I might order some soon. While the idea is pretty nice, I don't see how this meets the rules of a normal vehicle and hidden weapons when in 'normal mode'. I also feel sorry for your L motor and IR receiver scraping over the floor. I'd say use the week left in the contest to improve it. Maybe make it a trike? Im going to get bigger wheels to make it not scrape the motors, this is a bit like the prototype . Just ordered some of these for the wheels! I have an idea to hide the weapons, I could build a shell off of the doors to hide them! Quote
Block_Smarts Lego Technic Posted August 9, 2015 Author Posted August 9, 2015 UPDATE Added a new shell to hide weapons better! Also cleaned up some gaps and holes. Sorry for the poor video quality, I just took it fast! Quote
