Kai NRG Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Location: F04 Tags: Water Vehicle (boat), Exploration Oh the whether out here is delightful... ...it's back home that I find frightful... Hi, Guy, this is Dr. Long, incoming. Hi. Aren't you third branch executive? I find references to my executive status highly unnecessary. Just checking! Well, not to fool around, our science equipment is picking up signs of some fairly large creature within a ten yard radius of you. I don't see anything! And don't worry. If anything does happen to show up, I can handle it, you bet! By the way, you should come on down here. Beautiful weather! Really? I've heard tell it's rather cool. I know, that's what's great about it! My ice cream doesn't melt! Your what?! I... um... me? Did I say something? *don't we have some other scientist that I can work with?!* Wait a second, Guy, our screens are picking up something big... right behind you! *whew, saved by the bell!* Oh, don't worry, Dr. There's nothing here! Guy! I'm serious! Right behind you! Oh no. You're kidding me! What on earth is that... thing! My ice cream! My ice cream! Help! Help! Guy, I really need you to calm down. And get a sample. A sample?! A sample?! Are you crazy? That thing just swallowed my entire triple three flavor ice cream cone in ONE BIG GULP!!! Are you insane?! Ice cream? What on earth are you doing with ice cream? Fishing. What do you think? I'm out of here! Wait! My sample! ... And a bonus shot of the big bad orange slab (as I call it). Not built just to use the separator. I used the separator because it is one of my very few orange pieces. C&C welcome! I was really happy with how this turned out! Quote
Garmadon Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Ha, ha, excellent story Kai, that big bad orange slab is quite the monster! Fantastic ocean-scape and boat too, but that triple layer three flavor ice-cream cone... Quote
shmails Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Fantastic stuff Kai! Love the water and the slab, glad to see that we explorers all have our priorities straight! Quote
Jody Meyer Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Ha, awesome. Great use of the mighty separator. I hope to be fishing by next week... Quote
LittleJohn Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Excellent build, Kai! The water and boat are great Very nice slab too Quote
David FNJ Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 Haha, that's great! That boat is quite nice, and the water is well done! Quote
SpacerSteve Posted August 10, 2015 Posted August 10, 2015 I really like your fish. I like how you worked the brick separator into the fish's head. Quote
Kai NRG Posted August 10, 2015 Author Posted August 10, 2015 Thanks all! I had a great time building this and I'm glad you guys enjoyed it too! Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Haha! Awesome build! Love that story! Continuing the tradition of Octan employees goofing off while Dr. Long tries desperately to keep everyone focused on her science projects! Will Dr. Long ever get her sample? Will Guy ever get to eat his ice cream in piece? Is that a duck in the water? Great boat, and I love the water technique. My only concern is that the way it builds upwards makes it look a little more like a rock-formation than a wave, but that's just a nitpick. The mean green orange slab is awesome! ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote

The mean green orange slab is awesome! ~Insectoid Aristocrat To your first question... I don't think so! Thanks! Yes, that is a good point about the water; but I wanted to slope down naturally to the irregular base without necessarily implying that the actual water would be like that! The judges awarded you 4 points. Thanks! Quote
