Sorry for all the Vig's lately, I'm off work with a chest infection so I'm kind of bored...it's not as if I can even sleep as I just cough myself to pieces so I have to do something.

Anyway, as it says up top, this one is kind of an experiment. I don't know if it has worked or not, but I'm on medication so my mind is a little frazzled right now.

I call it "Escape to the Cave".

The brave knight had fought long and hard with the Dragon but the battle was too much for him... He flees to a mysterious glowing cave containing water that has magical healing properties, but he can only wonder how long it is before the Dragon finds him...

Thank you, I'm glad you like it. I used one of those transparent plate thingies from a mosaic set as I was lacking anything blue, but the vig' itself is still 8x8, it's just sat on the corner. To get the blue colour of the magical water in the cave the model is sitting on top of an 8x8x3 blue "box" with a small hatch at the back through which a torch is shining - the blue light is just reflected light from the inside of the box. I had two more torches on a sort of diffused setting to highlight other areas, one in front of the Knight, one behind the dragon - quite a complicated setup but it seems to have worked.

Nice vignette, Doctor. I like the way you've managed to fit that dragon head into the cave... I have a feeling the knight won't last long in that heavy armor! :-P

Get well soon. :-)

Yeah, he's doomed...unless...

And thanks. Although I think I am hallucinating on these pills - I keep seeing Muppets everywhere on the forum. :-D

Very cool! This vig makes me like the new dragon! ;-) I like how you used the transparent plate, I have used it before, too, and the effect is always perfect! I also like the lighting effect, great overall job! *y*

Have you tried Photoshop? It'll make the Effects Astounding!

I prefer not to use it where I can - more of a challenge that way, although I'm not ruling it out for future ones, just that I think that would make it less "pure".

Exactly !! CGIs are the use of the week or lazy photographer |-/

When Photographing Lego, I want it to be pure without any CGI crap !! I totally dislike them ;-)

Dr S that is one sweet vig, i really love the way you've used the lighting to highlight the vig.

Can't wait to see what you come up with next. :-)

Thank you Lord Vader.

Erm, I'm wondering that myself!

Just kidding, although I hope you do make another as this one is astounding! *wub*

The combination of excellent lighting, great setup and a good backstory make for one excellent vig!

I'm going to have to get my hands on one of those transparent plates......

Awesome! The lighting effects really make it look awesome! Looking forward to future vigs!

Oh, and get well soon. Although if keeping you sick means more vignettes... :-P
