Dilvish Posted September 5, 2015 Posted September 5, 2015 Can someone show me how to embed this video into a forum post? I keep getting a link instead of the video when using the media tags. Quote

dr_spock Posted September 6, 2015 Posted September 6, 2015 Remove the "s" in https:// after you paste the link into the media tag so that it is http instead of https. Quote
Darkdragon Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 You don't actually need to use the media tag here. Simply use the URL from YouTube (not eh share link they provide). Like the other said, you must remove the 's' from 'https'. Paste the modified URL into the post and the board will automatically add the appropriate tags to embed the video. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted September 8, 2015 Posted September 8, 2015 (edited) Oh so that's how you do it now,why did youtube have to change it in the first place. Edited September 8, 2015 by Alasdair Ryan Quote

dr_spock Posted February 13, 2016 Posted February 13, 2016 Oh so that's how you do it now,why did youtube have to change it in the first place. Using HTTPS means the communication between you and YouTube is encrypted. It makes harder for someone to figure out what you are watching if they tried to sniff your Internet traffic. a quick test if i can embed vids, now, it didnt work in other topics for me. edit: yay it works, i removed it. Great. Quote

Lox Lego Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Hi Guys, Sorry if this is the wrong area to discuss, but how do you add a youtube video to this forum so it has the screen shot, not just a hyper link? Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Paste the video URL and remove the S from https://www.youtube...... Quote
syclone Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 (edited) Like this, but without underlines [media_]https://www.youtube.com [/media_] Edited March 10, 2016 by LXF Quote
dr_spock Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Using url will also work and save you 4 keystrokes from typing media twice. But you need to change https to http so it embeds with the screenshot. Quote
Lox Lego Posted March 10, 2016 Posted March 10, 2016 Thanks for the speedy reply guys. Removing the s worked, cheers!! Quote
