I would like to make a pirate harbor layout. I would like to incorporate the buildings from the Medieval Market Village. I also would like to incorporate Mods of other sets I have for this village. The first Modded set is the Winter Village Bakery.

I made the building one stud narrower so that it's an even numbered width. It really simplified the Mod and ability to use as many of the original pieces from the set.

My 4 year old daughter was playing with a couple of carriages. I showed them in the photo and added drivers.

I would like to try to avoid right angles in the layout, so I have them set on an offset of 6 studs up and 1 stud over.

Here's Kolonialbeamter and I showing a close up of how I plan to get non-right angles.

Here's a side view of the bakery and the small alley between the bakery and the medieval market building.

Kolonialbeamter spilt my coffee, so I'm going to run him through, as soon as I catch up to him.

Here's a view of the other side.

Captain Braunsfeld and Captain Stabbin are picking up some baked goods.

Here's a view of the interior. I moved the chimney and fire place to the corner of the building instead of being in the middle. There's more floor space now.

Here are some closeups of the each side:

Comments and criticisms welcomes.

Nice I really like the non-right angled idea. I'm interested to see how this progresses :-) Will the inside of the bakery still be accessible when you have it fixed in place or will you have to lift it out of the model to open it?

Thank you for the complements.

I'm liking that angle technique.

I got the idea from a collaborative tower that Jareth made in our WisLUG. If possible, I would recommend people to attend their local LUG meetings. There are some good building techniques I've learned from looking at MOCs in person.

I'm working on a harbor layout, as well, and this gave me an idea for a butcher shop.

I'm glad I could help. :pir-grin:

Fine - but sad to see that Kolonialbeamter has lost hand and leg pirate_laugh2.gif

He hobbles along fine. He still runs fast. :pir-laugh:

Watch out for his left hook though. I almost lost an eye.

Captain Braunsfeld on a dog chariot?

Yes, my daughter was playing with her new Dalmatian and a space horse.

I'd recommend to shoot more pictures from minifig perspective.

Maybe when my next building is done, I'll do that.

I will need to lift the building off the layout to open it. The building is not that large, so it shouldn't be a problem.

It's about time I stopped by the bakery, right, Phred? Every good town needs one. This all looks pretty good, and I like how you're angling the buildings so smoothly. We all know building a town is difficult, so the smaller scale should work well.

The Pirates staff has been prominently featured of late. Could you please share the source of your sigfig's head and torso? I want to include you (and your fellow staffers) in a nice "dedicated" scene and I want to get them right, although you looked great in Redbeard's classic torso too!

Thank you Captain Dee

The Pirates staff has been prominently featured of late.

It's good to see staff contribute their own MOCs to the forum. That doesn't always seem to happen.

Also, I have always liked placing other sigfigs into my MOCs. I still have sigfigs of members that haven't been active for 5+ years. Once I take the time to put your sigfig together from the description you provided in you intro topic, you'll be included too.

Could you please share the source of your sigfig's head and torso?

Yes, here's my face and torso. Please don't judge me because the torso is from Star Wars. :pir-grin: I bought a lot of Star Wars Lego from 2004 to 2007.
