halixon Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 (edited) Previous Chapter: The Burnt Roads --- Next Chapter: Vampire Slayer Aeldric had left his horse behind, as the vines had begun to entangle it. There was no hope for the poor animal, so Aeldric put it out of it's misery. Aeldric strode cautiously up to a tall entrance to a dark hallway. He'd heard stories of the Kelra, but he had no knowledge of it's impending aura of fear. Thorny vines grew across the battered walls, mutilated frogs and spiders, covered in fungus crawled around just outside the labyrinth. Aeldric forced the aura of dread out of his mind and walked confidently into the dark maze. A frog particularly interested in Aeldric: The remains of a sorry adventurer: The build without minifigs: And the build without vines and animals: --- Here i thought i shouldn't detail the wall too much if i'm just going to cover it with vines, so thus i didn't bother too much with it. I didn't feel too inspired for the terrain, so i just laid out some dead leaves and such. C & C Welcome! Edited October 12, 2015 by Windusky Quote
TitusV Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Your builds keep improving! Try some reliëf in your ground, but the rest is really cool Quote
halixon Posted September 26, 2015 Author Posted September 26, 2015 Not sure what you mean by "Relief". Quote
Alfadas Posted September 26, 2015 Posted September 26, 2015 Not sure what you mean by "Relief". Height difference. Anyway, nice build once again! Quote
halixon Posted September 27, 2015 Author Posted September 27, 2015 Oh, ok. That's what i meant when i didn't really feel inspired for the terrain. Quote
Blufiji Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Along with relief, some texturing and blending would help this MOC stabd out a bit better. Other than that you pretty much nailed the Kelra. Quote
Bregir Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Nice little vignette - I think your take on an entrance to the Kelra Labyrinths is nice, especially the wall - and I like how your paths are no longer so regular. The story is great too, albeit a little grim. Keep up the good work - will be looking forward to seeing the rest. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Your builds are definitely improving! I echo the advice already given, so I'll just say, keep at it! Quote
LittleJohn Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Very nice build! The vines on the wall are great and I like the bits of olive green Quote
soccerkid6 Posted September 28, 2015 Posted September 28, 2015 The moss covered walls look nice, and I like the mushrooms Quote
Mike S Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 I like how you made the top of the wall! That being said, I think the wall itself would look better 2 or 3 studs thick since the photo angles show its thickness. Quote
Jacob Nion Posted September 29, 2015 Posted September 29, 2015 Great continuation of your story. You have a fine writing style. I enjoy reading yoir discriptions of the sceneries. That said, I can confirm that you generally nailed Kelra. There's not much more than torn walls. But there can never be to much texture on walls. Fungus and vines are the right addition. A good improvement would have been to show walls and ways behind the entrance. It disturbs the grim and dark atmosphere when there's nothing behind the entrance than white paper. But all in all I really like what you're doing. Keep on the good work! Quote
