Kalais Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 (edited) This is a section of a larger building. It belongs to my favourite pirate's enemies - Bluecoats. From some time I was thinking about building something similar to LEGO Creator modulars but in Pirates style. Then I spotted contest on Eurobricks forum which motivated me to finish my little project. Bigger photos and full story here: LEGO Gallery - Bluecoats' mini-modular (16x16) Follow my new MOCs and articles at: Facebook | Flickr | Google+ --- Notice: This is a shortened version of the post from LEGO Blog - Bricks' Treasure. Graham Gidman Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Lot of detail packed into one small area. Nice job! Quote
Staslegomaster Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 The lions look nice on the walls. What classic pirates sets is the MOC based on? Quote
Kalais Posted October 13, 2015 Author Posted October 13, 2015 Thx :) Umm, let me think, the parts come from: Pirate sets: - http://rebrickable.c...-pirates-i-1989 - http://rebrickable.c...l-soldiers-1989 - http://rebrickable.c...l-soldiers-1989 - http://rebrickable.c...irates-iii-2015 Maybe some more, I am not sure, I keep all parts sorted by type, not by set. Not pirate sets: - http://rebrickable.c...ter-police-2014 (even 1 "pirate" is from this set :) ) - http://rebrickable.c...lego-movie-2014 And of course many parts come from Bricklink/Ebay etc. Atm. I have more loose parts then set parts. I am not really collecting sets (with some exceptions for nostalgic old sets and the sets I really, really like :) ). I am buying new sets mainly for parts I need. Like those 2 "not pirate" above. As sets they are not really good in my opinion. But for the parts and price I paid they were very good addition to my collection :) Quote
vitreolum Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Nice, reminds me of a pumped up sabre island. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Really nice work! I especially admire its architecture :-) Quote
Schreeuwwitje Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Wow nice job! Love the lionheads and the cellar... great job! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Nice, reminds me of a pumped up sabre island. I agree with you. It is like an upgrade of Sabre Island. Great build ! I love the little details you bring to it, like the "lady not so in distress" in the top of the tower. Quote
Captain Dee Posted October 23, 2015 Posted October 23, 2015 The exterior is slightly "busy" but overall you've managed to put a lot of detail into a small space. Towers (or some form of vertical building) are natural for contests with base restrictions and this one certainly does the job. I immediately thought "Sabre Island" upon seeing it. I especially like those balconies. Good work. Quote
Dannylonglegs Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 Lovely tower! Detail-packed! I especially enjoy the transition from rocks to tower! The windows are also great! Wonderful work! The only thing I'd critique is that the water is a bit plain. Some waves or foam would be nice. ~Insectoid Aristocrat Quote
