Aliencat Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Here's my entry for the Winter Village contest, a snowy cottage. The back is open to see the interior: And with the ladder for the attic down: Quote
sunhuntin Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 cute. like the ink pot with the quill in it. Quote
Brick Capone Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Looks beautiful! I love the roof and interior. Great work! Quote
Actor Builder Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 This is great! I love it! The snowman is the most realistic snowman I've seen in LEGO form. Half built with no definable facial features. Very realistic there. Great job. Quote
Kristel Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 This is gorgeous! Love the snowman, fireplace and flooring. Quote
Chubbs Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I would love to have this set. Well done! Quote
kjm161 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 This is beautiful. I love the arched opening in the rear to see into the interior. Quote
Miro78 Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Love it. It has the rustic but charming look to it. Nice textures with the wood siding, stone work and the snow cover looks realistic. I probably would had added a tad of snow on the front facade as well to balance it off. I better get cracking before time runs out. Quote
Legocitycustoms Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 The roof is awesome, a burning fire inside the house would be nice. Quote
Paperballpark Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 That is very nice! You've set the bar very high! Quote
Withacee Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 I like this one a lot! It looks quite romantic and fits in well with the rest of WV. Great colour combinations on the chimney, and the roof. Nice snow build-ups, too. The medium blue door and windows might look unexpected, but I think it works brilliantly with the rest of the colours. Good luck, and keep clicking those bricks together! alsielou Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Oh this is lovely. What a pretty house. It fits the theme perfectly. The interior is sweet in its simplicity too. The snowman is cute, I love the shape of the building, the textures and how the arch over the back opening completes the picture. Quote
Orange Leader Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Looks cosy! I like the integration of both wood and stone bricks and those Forest Men shields work perfect. Quote
AlcoEmmen Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Really really nice build. Love the use of the forrest-shields. Great combination of colors, it will fit perfect in the official winter village. Quote
Andy D Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 Very nice! I like the size/scale of yours better than the official LEGO cabin. Good luck in the contest. Andy D Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 It's great to see you building again. Nice work as always! Quote
JanetVanD Posted November 21, 2015 Posted November 21, 2015 A lot of charm and character in this neat model. I really like it. Quote
Aliencat Posted November 22, 2015 Author Posted November 22, 2015 Thanks for the great comments everyone! The roof is awesome, a burning fire inside the house would be nice. I did put one of those flame pieces inside the fire place but it's a little too dark to see it. I think there might be space to build a light brick into the bottom of the fireplace though, pointing upwards. You just gave me an idea ;) I'll give that a try. The medium blue door and windows might look unexpected, but I think it works brilliantly with the rest of the colours. Thanks, I had green doors and windows in there at first, to fit with the dark green trims on the cottage, but I think the blue stands out more as painted door/window lattices. Quote
