Simon_S Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 (edited) So we all know this problem: When the Algus come, everything turns into ice and snow. But what to do against it? This short guide will show you how to get rid of them... Enjoy Soldier: "Look at this once so beautiful tree. Now it's dead. We killed it. We're just too cold for this wonderful forests. We should pay attention that we don't kill the other plants on the other side of the pond ." Chief: "Ah, not again this same old mawkishness . I explain it one more time for you: Dead trees are good and green trees are bad. You got it now?" Soldier: "Yes, Sir!" Chief: "You stink like hell. Take a bath!" Soldier: "Yes, Sir!" He jumps down the cliff, but before he plunges in the pond, the water turns into ice... DONG! The water froze faster than the Algus guy fell down. On this observation we can establish our new tactic against them. We throw water at the Algus, from all sides, at the same time. They will automatically freeze it and then they are locked up in their own blocks of ice. We can simply transport them on the back of a hay wagon through the swamplands of Avalonia. Let's bring them to Nocturnus... There they opened a new amusement park recently: Welcome to the Nocturnic Park! "Darling, hand me another iced Algus over, our little one is very hungry!" _________________________________________________________________________________ Here's the whole thing together: I hope you like my not too serious entry (althought it will never be as funny as Captain Braunsfelds rainbow magic ). Thank you for checking out and have a nice day! Simon S. Edited December 13, 2015 by Simon_S Quote
Graham Gidman Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 Haha! Awesome, so awesome. Love the Avalonian one best. Quote
The Steward Posted December 13, 2015 Posted December 13, 2015 HAHAHA! I want to go to the amusement park! Quote
Petric_G Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Thanks for the solution Simon. I like somehow the red beast in the bloody water ;-) Quote
TitusV Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Oh, fantastic! I love the funny approach to the entry, but your builds are also of a very quality! Edited December 14, 2015 by TitusV Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Great builds ! I love your Mosasaur...euh...Creature pit ! This is a nice idea to present the algus changing weather feature and use it against them ! Good job ! Quote
Spader Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Hehe....very nice.I really like the details you put into this. keep it up! Quote
Gideon Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 (edited) Fun story and builds, which are all excellent! I especially like the landscaping of the Mitgardian build, but for some reason I'm extra fond of the atmosphere in the Avalonian build The story doesn't necessarily fit into my view on GoH with the motto "Keep it dark, keep it realistic" however, but Historica is full of surprises Edited December 14, 2015 by Gideon Quote

Thanks for the solution Simon. I like somehow the red beast in the bloody water ;-) Thanks mate! It's good to see that everybody likes a different build the most. I for myself like the mitgardian one the best. Oh, fantastic! I love the funny approach to the entry, but your builds are also of a very quality! Thank you Titus. Yeah, I had to make quality builds for the story - otherwise this entry would have been all around ridiculous . Great builds ! I love your Mosasaur...euh...Creature pit ! This is a nice idea to present the algus changing weather feature and use it against them ! Good job ! Haha, thanks Faladrin . Haha brilliant! Thank you LV! Hehe....very nice.I really like the details you put into this. keep it up! Thanks Andrew. Fun story and builds, which are all excellent! Yeah, I'm not that good with realistic and serious stuff (remembering my first GoH build I've done: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=72633&hl=%2Bmulled+%2Bwine). Sometimes I wish I would be better in realistic stuff, but other times I also like to build some really weird MOCs . Quote
Blufiji Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Stop dumping your trash in the darklands and callinf it amusement! We can barely hold the spire at bay, we don't need the Algus unthawing or cutting themselves out of animals stomacha! Haha these are hilarious, especially that first one! Great work. Quote
Sir Gillian Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Very well made builds! Very fun story too Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Fine and convincing solution! I like the differently coloured water in the three MOCs... and the red monster! Quote
Dr.Cogg Posted December 14, 2015 Posted December 14, 2015 Great builds, you really captured Nocturnus on that last build. Quote
de Gothia Posted December 15, 2015 Posted December 15, 2015 Three great mocs! My favourite is the Nocturnus one, reminds me of jurassic world and the mosasaurus! Quote
Adair Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 You should have a running chance at one of them at least. :) Great job! Quote
soccerkid6 Posted December 16, 2015 Posted December 16, 2015 Superb series of builds, and the storyline is hilarious Your tree design in the Mitgardian build, is incredible, and your rockwork and snow are excellent there as well. Great swamp, and bridge for the Avalonian scene, and the trees add to the atmosphere I think the Nocty one might be my favorite though, with the amazing section of curved wall and seating, plus that large beasty Quote

Haha, thanks for that funny comment . You know, if we'd have such cool animals in Avalonia, we wouldn't have to bring our trash to you... Very well made builds! Very fun story too Thank you Fine and convincing solution! I like the differently coloured water in the three MOCs... and the red monster! Thanks Captain. That with the water in different colours was the first idea on which I built the triptych. I'm not very happy how the photos turned out - in real life it looks much better. Great builds, you really captured Nocturnus on that last build. Thank you. We all know that a small part of my soul is dark red & gold Three great mocs! My favourite is the Nocturnus one, reminds me of jurassic world and the mosasaurus! Thanks mate . Yeah that movie (only seen the trailer) looked very impressive. When I first saw it I knew exactly that I'm going to build a fantasy version of it one day. You should have a running chance at one of them at least. :) Great job! That tree actually uses every single black hand I had - now they all are handless (but the minifigs are anyway the worst sorted part of my collection, so it doesn't matter). You just pointed out my favourite part in each build, great job Quote
SarahJoy Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 Clever solution! Great work on all three builds, capturing different landscape moods. Quote
Puvel Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 These are all amazing, the different types of water fit really well in your rock work. Brilliant stuff! Quote
KlodsBrik Posted December 17, 2015 Posted December 17, 2015 These MOC´s are just mindblowing but the real value comes with the storyline you created for them. So many lovely details and great use of transparent pieces + slopes together with your SNOT work just makes them truely outstanding. I so love all of them indeed ! Quote
LittleJohn Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 Gorgeous builds, Simon! That tree technique in the first one is superb and I love the rounded spectator seats in the last one Very nice cart design too Quote
mrcp6d Posted December 19, 2015 Posted December 19, 2015 All of these are excellent, and I really like the continuity between the three you created with using the same technique for the water/lava in each. Quote
