A small castle in the lush Arkbri valley of Kaliphlin is attacked by the Algus. They have easily breached the gates using their formidable ice magic, and even frozen the ground and vegetation close to the gate despite the tropical heat of Kaliphlin.

This is my category A entry to The Frozen Beyond contest.

I also would like to claim the UoP credit for Siege [Military Science].

Looks a bit of the Middle-east with those round roof tops, nice.

Like it. great build, and nice vegetation and stuff. That guy, hiding in a barrel is a funny thing too.

Just a small question ... that color (of the walls), is 'tan' right?

You are the master of desert style architecture. You take something that is, in my opinion, the hardest of the four guilds building styles to make interesting and you blow it out of the water.

Great build, love the contrast of sourthern citystyle with northern invader `things`

And the guy in the barrel is just fantastic

Very good build. I'm also a fan of the guy hiding in the barrel :)

Thanks! The guy in the barrel is not a new technique to this build, I used it back in one of my first GoH builds. Btw, seeing that build again makes me realize how useful plates and textured bricks are to make better walls and that a few years in GoH definitely has had me refining the "finish" of my builds in general (studs on the walkway behind the palisade??)

Great bunch of Algusses - and the walls look fine too!

Lovely! Great castle, and the Colors are also very Nice. Congratulations!

That's just awesome, love the texturing and coloring on the walls!

Thanks! This build actually originated from that I got a bunch of sand green masonry bricks in the LUGBULK and wanted to try mixing them with tan :classic:

Very impressive! I love the way you do Kaliphlin architecture...keep it up!

Thank you! I feel a bit like I'm falling into a habit with my building style, but then again that might give the builds a bit of connection? At least I tried to move into a bit more green now

UoP DoH +1

Thank you! Only three to go...

Beautiful architecture! Where did you get the blue bricks? :classic:

Most of the bricks in this build is from BrickLink or LUGBULK.

Yes, it's "tan" in the BrickLink terminology or "brick yellow" as TLG calls it.

Speaking of colors, is anyone else reacting that the sand green looks a bit strange or is it just my screen? It can hardly be the white balance that's off since I calibrated Lightroom against a proper 18% graycard but maybe there's something wrong in the calibration of the stronger colors? Or maybe I'm just used to seeing sand green in a particular light and this is how it "really looks like"...

The final (and maybe most likely option?) I can think of is that it is the color contrast between the tan and sand green which pops more in the picture since I think my D750 is known to produce a tad too high saturation off the sensor.

The sand green on the walls is just beautiful! Nice work depicting the action as well!

Enough action to merit a UoP siege credit...?

Another beautiful build  The sand green works wonderfully with the tan walls (though it does look a bit more bright mint colored than usual in the picks), and I like the recessed windows up top

The sand red building fits the atmosphere perfectly, and that's quite a formidable group of Algus there as well :classic:

Beautiful build! Love the texture of the building and the use of those green blade pieces. UoP +1.

The sand green does look a bit off -- but I don't think it's your camera settings or set-up, given the other colors look correct. I think we're looking at color relativity -- in this case, the saturation and hue of the tan makes the sand green appear both more saturated and and a bit more blue. It's happening with the sand red, too, to a lesser degree.

Fantastic build, simply beautiful!

Thanks!

Simply beautiful build, Gideon! The wall texturing, as usual, is outstanding and I really like the green foliage for this build

That sand red house is great as well. +1 for the UoP credit :classic:

Thanks! It was a test to do only texturing and not the usual dk tan mottling, I'm glad you think it turned out well :classic:

Thank you! I had a lot of fun building those Algus :classic:

Maybe figbarfing is underestimated?

Awesome build- I love how this is a greener build, but still distinctly Kaliphlin!

Kaliphlin is contrary to some ignorant beliefs not at all only desert!!

Whoa, I didn't see the sand green on Flickr... now I'm really jealous of your Lego sources.

Great build, as always!

Well, the sand red is from BrickLink (part of a bigger lot of "used in great condition" I ordered from the US, unfortunately it cost me a fair bit extra since the customs caught it...)

The sand green is mostly from BrickLink also, but the masonry bricks are LUGBULK.
