stebai Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 (edited) Back again for another bash at this wonderful competition! This year I'm very happy to offer the "Lions Head Mill" to my Winter Village collection, and yes the sails are motorized! The WV Baker needs more flour than ever at this time of year, and Old Man Johansson and his son Sven are more than happy to keep the town in scrummy treats. Sven, however is easily distracted by Hayley the Librarian... When they aren't turning the sails they are often found turning the stones on the local Curling Rink, which they happily share with all the locals. The set comes in at just under 1200 pieces (mostly 1x1 plates, square & round that make up the lower part of the building) and it's footprint is akin to the WV Cottage. Thanks again for running this competition, it really is a holiday tradition now Merry Christmas everyone! Edited December 23, 2015 by Rick Quote
JopieK Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Very nice!!! Great idea, should become a new set! Quote
Palixa And The Bricks Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Great idea. The best parts are the little well and the curling rink. In my opinion the contrast between black, white and green is a bit too harsh, but apart from that I like the mill and how it is built. It's a lovely set Quote
Gunman Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Great creation but above all I like the section of the game on the ice where you put the colored plates under it! Great one! Quote
Mr Greeble Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Nice use of teeth as icicles on the roof. Quote
Crossbones Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 Great idea! I love the curling rink and the well. Wonderful details. Quote
Kyky Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 the curling rink made me smile :) nice building:) Quote
Actor Builder Posted December 24, 2015 Posted December 24, 2015 Oooh! I love the curling match! That's a great addition! Quote
Brickmaestro Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Wonderful Dutch feel to the whole thing - great angles on the windmill. Quote
alsielou Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 I too really like the curling rink and well, and the overall look of the windmill is great. Love the little hedgehog in there too. Will we see it and you, at Brickvention in Jan? I hope so!! I loved your whole village layout last year!! Quote
stebai Posted December 31, 2015 Author Posted December 31, 2015 I too really like the curling rink and well, and the overall look of the windmill is great. Love the little hedgehog in there too. Will we see it and you, at Brickvention in Jan? I hope so!! I loved your whole village layout last year!! Will be at BV but the whole winter village is staying at home this time. Am going with a different theme this time... Just got to get building.... PS thanks for the comment, the windmill was the one i felt best suited to the contest this year, but I wish i'd gone with the Tavern now.. The windmill has little interior detail as the tower holds the gearbox, while the barn holds the battery pack. Nevermind... Quote
alsielou Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Oh well I guess you can enter the tavern next year then? I will look out for you at Brickvention, and you have me intrigued now as to what your theme will be. I will say hello! Quote
Willworkfortoys Posted December 31, 2015 Posted December 31, 2015 Great idea and intricate details! Quote
