WesternOutlaw Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 The Awakening Something's a'spook'n the critters in Grave Stone Cemetery. Jake Farlow, the Undertaker, and his loyal helper Hank Austin have been busy trying to keep up with the current demand. Jake is a greedy man; however, and has told Hank to just burry 'em quickly not to worry about digg'n 'em too deep. Perhaps it was the shallow grave, or even the Putrid Water, but someone or something is rising from the large grave in the center of the cemetery. Poor Hank sees the skeletal figure with its green glowing eyes climbing out of the tomb and can only stare at the horrifying apparition. It is he, the Phantom Rider who is awakening from his tomb! Halloween must be near... *skull* This cemetery is not exactly what I was trying to capture as I didn't use any of the pieces from the HP Graveyard Duel, which I would have liked to do. Overall though, I don't think the result is too bad. I may try rebuilding in the near future. I'll share a few more pictures soon. Quote
Starwars4J Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Man, you must be on the cheap burial plan if they leave the stabbing knife in you! Great set as always, Brickster! Love the yellow glowing eyes effect on the bat, and the happy white-picket-fence for a cemetery :-D It really matches the feel of the rest of your line well! My only suggestion would be to make the lighting a little less harsh, so it looks like evening or something *y* Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Indeed. I believe that you should limit the use of Graveyard Duel pieces. I like the uniqueness of this cemetary. Another good Grave Stone Moc. Quote

Sir Dillon Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Another nice creation Brickster, I could easily see this as an official set. The various tomb stones are neat, and I like the way you used the brown tiles to show the earth has been dug up. I also like the use of the white fences, because it might give the buyer the impression it's a nice place. X-D I don't particularly like the look of the tree in the back... I think it should have more branches. I also think you should do something with the top of the chimney, right now it looks a little unfinished. Quote
iamded Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 Ah, Grave Stone finally has some gravestones! :-D It's nice to see all manner of critters in here, a snake, bats, a spider and a scorpion. I love all the different Gravestones too. Is there an interior to that building? Anyway, great job. *y* :-D ~Peace Quote
Batbrick Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) I really like this! *y* The bats and snakes and spiders give it a cool supernatural feel, just like all your Gravestone MOCs. The white picket fence doesn't mind me much, but I tink it could be beter. The skeleton eye effect looks freaky, and the building itself is nice and simple too! WesternOutlaw Posted October 21, 2007 Author Posted October 21, 2007 I enjoy reading all the feedback. Thanks. Here's a few more shots of the cemetery. Starting with the tomb of the Phantom Rider: The tomb closed: A few of the other graves: The spooky house of the Undertaker. Aside from a fireplace inside, I haven't added any details. A perspective of the whole cemetery: The Undertaker, Jake Farlow and his servant, Hank Austin: Quote
iamded Posted October 21, 2007 Posted October 21, 2007 (edited) Cool! I may have to make my own graveyard. I've been thinking of making a story of my own, involving a graveyard, nuclear radiation and lots of guns. But I'll need a better camera to get it up and running. The gravestones are all cleverly made, I just don't like the mixing of black and grey, for example, in the gravestone to the right of the Phantom Rider's. Thanks for the rest of the pics, looking forward to your next grave Stone MOC. *y* *y* ~Peace Edited October 21, 2007 by iamded Quote

Yes, I tend to agree with you. I didn't have any grey so I used the black pieces. I'd prefer them all the same color. A few more slopes would have worked nicely as well. I didn't feel like breaking out my Lego boxes for a few gravestones. Quote

There really was nothing special about them; They were just stickers on 2x4 plates, so I wasn't very impressed. Quote
iamded Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) Will I be in said story iamded? I dunno. I was planning on this being more serious, I guess you could make a cameo appearance. Unless you have a sig-fig other than Batman. Or maybe I could have a serious one and a non-serious one. I'll figure it out. But I'll definately be nabbing some of these gravestone ideas. :-D Edited October 22, 2007 by iamded Quote

iamded Posted October 22, 2007 Posted October 22, 2007 (edited) Sorry, I was replying to Batbrick. I guess I should have done it via PM, instead of spamming this thread. :-( 8-| ~Peace Edited October 22, 2007 by iamded Quote
