Elostirion Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 When Ivo Fortesque had come to Nova Terreli, Joaquin Seramon Fontonajo took his chance and joined the expedition. Joaquin had always been the most eager adventurer and explorer of the Fontonajo family. While his uncle had been a great sailor, captain and fighter, Joaquin always strived for new things. This trip was his chance. Being on one of the minor vessels in the following of Ivo Fortesque, Joauin Seramon Fontonajo and his comapnions landed a bit off the place where Fortesque had landed. Not a man of doubt or hesitation Joaquin quickly entered the dense jungles of the island to explore it himself. After a while he saw a small lake shining through the thicket, and he followed the reflections of the water for some refreshment. And this is where he first saw her... ---- Quite a hard challenge to build on such a small scale. It took me several attempts to get the layout the way I wanted it to be. Some more pictures from some other angles etc. can be found on flickr. Good luck to everyone in this challenge. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 It is beautiful! Both the idea and the lush vegetation. And that small waterfall... Quote
kabel Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 I like the idea very much and also the way you put so much onto such a small scale. Also, the light looks really good this time! Quote
Bregir Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Wonderful jungle depiction, Elostirion! I can really imagine how he would push some undergrowth aside and discover the pond and the... erhm... native. How long did you say he had been at sea? Can we be sure this is an accurate depiction of what actually transpired? The undergrowth may be a bit too diverse for my taste, but it actually works out well, and I really like how you added both the waterfall (source) and stream (drainage) of the pond! Quote
Mike S Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Nice build! I especially like the dense tree cover! Quote
TenorPenny Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 The bright blue petal pieces look superb when bottomed out with green foliage. Well done! Quote
Captain Genaro Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 The trees are particularly good, certainly something you would find in a lush jungle, and the attention to detail, especially the little stream, makes the MOC all the more realistic. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Good scene, ... .kind of a crowded baseplate with all those plants and the waterfall, etc. Quote
Capt Wolf Posted January 10, 2016 Posted January 10, 2016 Well done. Great vegetation! Those big blue-pedaled plants are something! Quote
Garmadon Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 Very nice work on the foliage and the layers on the base Elostirion, the trees and water are quite nice as well, and the photography is excellent! I hope to see you continue improving in Brethren of the Brick Seas, you have a great deal of potential here! Quote
Franco Clarke Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Very good, I like the layers of soil and rock which you have built into the base. It adds interest without distracting too much, Quote
Gideon Posted January 15, 2016 Posted January 15, 2016 Very nice scene, great job capturing a tropical jungle look Quote
Captain Dee Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 I like dense jungle scenes such as this. The trees are excellent and while the variety of other plants may look busy on such a small scale methinks it is a fine representation of what the jungle would look like, bathing beauty or no. Interesting idea for the challenge, and excellent design and presentation. Good work. Quote
