This is my 3rd free build this month so if you aren’t from Corrington and like what you see, feel free to give the thumbs up!

Puvel had gathered the funds for a small vessel and awaited its arrival eagerly.

The HMS Alice was currently on route to Arlinsport and he was keen to take it and go explore the new lands.

His new vessel was build in the great shipyards of Bellton and was a well rounded little ship perfect for exploration missions.

The idea was to make a Class 2 WR.

Very nice indeed!

I was just realizing how well those parts work for sails while disassembling my Sea Cow...

Nice ship. I'm not generally a fan of brick-built sails but this manages to look pretty good anyway. I like the low hull design, choice of colors and details. The minifigs look great too; I don't typically picture those helmets in these settings but it looks quite natural.

The armament is ambitious! Perhaps closing the sides in around the guns for true gunports would be useful for a vessel this low.

I answered your question regarding the awarding of DBs for these third+ freebuilds in the main intro topic but I'll post it here as well. To start out we're going to wait until the three week approval period is over and then award all the earned DBs at once just to keep it simple. Eventually we may award them in the month you earn them (for approval periods spanning two months) rather than all at once. As I said before I'll be tallying these up, and I'm cleared to give approvals for anyone.

I approve.

Nice ship! She looks like she has a shallow draft, and so could navigate inland on some rivers. I like the stern decoration, and the pith helmets. But my favorite feature is the sails. Well done! I approve.

A very nice ship. The brick built sails are very nice, and I like the touches of gold throughout. I'm a huge fan of the swab/ramrod. The build is nothing unique, but details like that help a MOC come to life.

The only thing I might change is the chain across the sails. It seems out of place, and I am not quite sure what it represents.

I approve.

Very nice ship Puvel, I like the rounded hull, color-scheme, and the number of cannons, although I do think the railing in the front could be curved a bit more smoothly (maybe by getting rid of the first telescope on the outside line?) Those sails don't look too bad either, and the SNOTted tiles on the side are superb pirate_wink.gif I approve!

Nice ship! I was thinking about using that kind of sail setup as well...

Thanks! Lots of ships use the same kind of sails so it’s not too late!

Might use them again myself so my fleet is recognisable.

Sweet ship!!! It looks very smooth, even you used brick sails :)

Approved & Indexed!

Nice ship and well done with those brick built sails ! I approve

Very nice indeed!

Thanks! To be honest, the brick sails are about 90% stolen from my Sea Cow.

I made some adjustments but I’ve seen people reuse sails from boxes so I figured that’s ok.

Very Corringtonish. Nice choice of helmets.

Thanks! Wanted to use the Corrington colours so I’m happy it’s recognized as Corringtonish

Thanks! Thought about closing the gunports but then the ship looked a bit too closed imo.

Also, thanks for the update about the DBs.

Thanks! The idea was to be able navigate rivers indeed, I totally didn’t forget to order the bottom parts of the hull pir_laugh2.gif

Thanks! I tried to make it a bit lively with the minifigs doing things, so thanks for noticing!

I didn’t have any ladders to add, I figured sailers are good at climbing so they’d be happy enough with a chain pirate_laugh2.gif

Thanks! The railing is bit square indeed, kept it this way so i could fit the Corrington colours

I love the flat bottom boat look as well as the wings in the back! I think the cannons look a little big, and the pith helmets seem slightly more advance than the age of sail, but I know other players have used them already too so maybe it'll just become a BoBS thing to do. thumbup.gif

Nice looking vessel, Puvel. I think you pulled of the brick built sails pretty well, although I would suggest you at least try sails of cloth or paper at some point - it is much easier to make look realistic. pirate_blush.gif

I like the low hull, although I doubt she will be a very dry ship in harsh weather! In fact, I would much prefer to use her in coastal waters where the shallow draft is her advantage! pirate_tong.gif On the high seas, I would be afraid to be swept off the deck, and her lack of a cabin makes her somewhat unsuited for long journeys! pirate_wink.gif

I agree the cannons look a bit too large, so perhaps trying brick built guns another time would be an idea.

Overall, really nice ship - the gold accents are really nice, and I really like those railings. Well done!

I approve!

Sleek ship! I approve as well. I will also commend on brick built sails that i am generally not in favor of, but yours do seem fitting!

+1 to my enemy from Oleon!

Thanks! Looking forward to using the cannons on you pirate_satisfied.gif

Those sails work great! The dark red, dark tan, and dark brown also go together very well.

Great ship! These sails are absolute lovely!

Thanks!

Thanks! Cannons are a bit big indeed, might downgrade those a bit if I have the bricks to build something smaller lying around.

Think the Corrington description said somewhere British colonial style so I thought of these helmets, they might be a bit too advanced for the age of sail indeed. Then again Corrington is way ahead of its time, yay for science! I have other hats so if the mods want, they can decide whether or not these are too advanced, no problem.

Thanks! You have some good points there, thanks for the tips. Still working on getting my sea legs pir_laugh2.gif

A fine vessel indeed. Not sure if I can give approval but if I can, thumbs up.

Thanks!
