Governor Mister Phes Posted November 24, 2007 Governor Posted November 24, 2007 We must identify the painting at once! Quote
Captain Ka-Boom Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 They are all wearing bicornes. That would be nice instead of shakos *wacko* Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 Finding a painting without knowledge of the painter or the event... eish, you guys like challenges don't you? Found quite an interestin website while I was doing a search for the artist. Might be useful for people... www.uniformology.com Other than that, no luck finding the artist, seriously needle in the haystack stuff this. Quote
Asuka Posted November 25, 2007 Posted November 25, 2007 A very nice rendering of that scene, although some more variety of MF heads could be interesting, though.... *sweet* Quote

Might be useful for people... www.uniformology.com Other than that, no luck finding the artist, seriously needle in the haystack stuff this. You're right ... For a short time I've thought it maybe a painting by Guiseppe Rava, who is also the painter of my avatar. I've taken a look on his side. But I've found no evidence for my assumption ... From the style point of view it maybe. Also he is one of the coautors of the side I've taken the picture from. So far we can only use the text on the side beside the picture: In 1814 at the battle of Arcis-sur-Aube Napoleon was knocked off his horse by a bursting Austrian shell and disappeared in the smoke. Then he got up - unhurt. Andreas Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Hmm, on this website? http://napoleonistyka.atspace.com This is near bloody impossible to find. Interesting commentary about Napolean, seem to recall something like that happened to William of Orange prior to the Battle of the Boyn, the Catholic Alliance fired a shell that hit him but didn't kill him. If only the Dutch had had him around at the time of Napolean. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted November 26, 2007 Posted November 26, 2007 Ah this looks like a good set up of MF's! *y* Only the baseplate might need some more green, some bushes a broken wheel... I really like those brown torso's, but i don't see any white in the painting. (not wearing my glasses, so that could just be me :-D ) Quote

Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted November 28, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted November 28, 2007 Another nice addition for our Index: MOCs based on paintings. So far we can only use the text on the side beside the picture:In 1814 at the battle of Arcis-sur-Aube Napoleon was knocked off his horse by a bursting Austrian shell and disappeared in the smoke. Then he got up - unhurt. Andreas I'm glad I was not hurt ;-) Quote

woody64 Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 How can I draw a Minifig's cloth in the "Paint" regularly? I. Read Mosana's excellent turorial: http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=10009 II. Look into the pirates library. Maybe there is already a decal you can base on. III. Design your decal or change one as needed. Andreas Quote
