dr_spock Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Challenge 2B A long time ago many factions fought over a tiny key island outpost in the Seas of Storm. The lookout post was installed by Oleon and provided intelligence of ship movements in the Seas of Storm. Corrington, unfriendly to Oleon, seized the outpost with a small expedition force. Their victory may have been short lived though. Victory Is Short Lived by dr_spock_888, on Flickr Here's a little fun challenge: Can you guess off the top of your head which LEGO set the island base is from? No looking up or searching. Quote
Captain Dee Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Neat build. Showing several factions is a good idea, and you certainly kept the carnage realistic. That big expanse of water is really impressive. The tower has a nice classic look, which is to say that it's fairly basic but gets the job done. I just don't quite understand why they're fighting over such a small land mass... The base is from Loot Island, right? Good work. Quote
Elostirion Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Great job, nice atmosphere overall. The shark should lie a bit deeper (looks like he is surfing the water), but aside from that a well depicted attack! Quote
BrickOn Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 The whole scene looks great, but I think those Corries can manage a few undisciplined pirates... Quote
Kolonialbeamter Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Lovely scene... well, except for the dead, of course I really enjoy your building style, always an eye for the essentials in a build, slightly exaggerated and cartoonish, always triggering an emotional response and shining an intended spotlight on it. This outpost is both hilarious and very Lego-ish: No matter how small, there's always a prison cell I love the contrast between the vast sea area and the tiny tower. Also, great title Keep it up! Bregir Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 It is nice to see someone finally realising that the natural flag to fly over any island is that of Corrington! I am certain those brave Corlanders will repel the attack from those Sea Rats! Nice little scene, and nice story to go with it. Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted March 29, 2016 Posted March 29, 2016 Hm, I don't remember the name of the set, but I had it and I still have the island base plate (it was deemed unusable until I just saw how you made it work ). I think there was an octopus in that set too ... What is missing in your MOC is the next storm coming up on the horizon that will wash away everything on that island.... Quote
TitusV Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 That isle looks pretty good, and I like the water! Quote
Vedauwoo Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Me likey! I gotta get of my megablocks and build my challenge builds...only 5 or so hours left! Quote
