Hi all!

As you can read here, we´ve have had a suggestion thread.

Thanks for the input, now it´s time to vote for the best names! The different food & drink establishments are:

  • The Café
The Café is a trendy food & beverage area providing easy to pick refreshments to the LEGO House guests. You will spend approx. 15 min in the Café to enjoy a good coffee, lemonade or a glass of beer or wine while you are having a snack, sandwich or a piece of cake. You can order from a display of prepared food.
  • The Family restaurant
The Family restaurant is the place to eat lunch or dinner for families visiting the LEGO House. You order your meal by building it in a LEGO way with a fun, interactive and playful family experience and can enjoy high quality food. There will be a menu card. You will spend approx. 45-60 min in the Family restaurant.
  • The Mezzanine
The Mezzanine is the place to go for an evening out with business partners or friends. It provides fine dining with a fun and subtle LEGO twist. You spend +90 min in this culinary gastronomy to enjoy high-level food and spend quality time with your network.

I notice that for the Café, the name "Corner Café" is in the lead.

What if the Café isn't on a corner?

I was also under the impression that Corner Café has been trademarked already.

Oh well.

I went with Breezeway (as a nod to one of my favourite sets of the 90s)

Play-Well (I like the reference to the phrase "Leg Godt")

Chez Albert (the Parisian Restaurant is my favourite modular).

I didn't think The Lego Movie was actually that good (although I acknowledge I am not the target audience). I personally dislike the fact that Lego nowadays seems to put most of its focus on releasing licensed themes (to the detriment of its own products and thereby detracting from its former motto 'Just Imagine...). I would therefore like to see the dining areas named after Lego's own creations rather than anything licensed (which includes the film, which I feel was spoiled partly by licensed characters).

I was hoping for the Brick Oven for the cafe. Brick's Bar for the mezzanine. But the names on the ballot look fine as well.

Brick Oven! That's brilliant! One of the ones I came up with for the family restaurant (and shared on BZPower) was the Stacked Plate, but I had trouble coming up with other punny names...

It was in our local LUG too but things came up. I would have suggested something like Café Erling (in Denmark we always put Café first) and The Yellow Castle, but now they can go on the MOC list instead :)
