Capn Frank Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 The festivities in the streets of Breshaun are in full swing! Outside the Academy of Cartography, we see a floral cart, musicians from Eslandola, people enjoying the music, troops marching through the streets, and visitors from throughout the Terran Seas. Of course, festivities are nice, but work must continue inside. Oleon has copied the best cartography academy in all Corrington, and made it better, made it Oleon. Upon entering the academy, a student can view and pray to a statue of Poseidon. Inside, the senior cartographer is noting (what the) measurements (mean) on a map, and his apprentice is learning how to (incorrectly) hold a sextant. Soon, Oleon maps blessed by Poseidon will be the envy of the Terran Seas, even Corrington. Additional pictures: Thanks for looking. C&C welcome. Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Great build ! I like the roof made of CMF tiles. Your scientists should be careful, I think they have a strange stony "student" in the cartographer room... ;p :D And did I see a snowman participating to the festivities ? Great build and very funny ! Quote
TitusV Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Awesome House, loving the interior and the first image is just gorgeous Quote
blackdeathgr Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Excellent build Phred with the usual quality mark of yours!i especially like the dome and the roof, as well as the hinged, opening sides Quote
Captain Braunsfeld Posted May 1, 2016 Posted May 1, 2016 Quite nice - interior is really great. Clever statue too! Quote
Elostirion Posted May 2, 2016 Posted May 2, 2016 The roof, also the chandelier attached to it, is just fantastic. I've only recently come to like those small playing features, e.g. the detachable roof and the unfoldable interior. You did a great job here. Also I really like how you took a field that is rather Corrington-ish (science, progress in navigation and all that sutff) and still managed to give it a full Oleander flair. It really feels so fitting for Oleon and how you guys would approach navigation. Please give us more of that! Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 2, 2016 Author Posted May 2, 2016 Thank you for the kind comments. And did I see a snowman participating to the festivities ? Yes, the snowman is based off the one in the generic EB banner. I think he's going to stay there for my Brickworld display. Stash and Captain Green Hair are showing off their musical talent, and Tomsche is walking his poodles. Please give us more of that! Sounds good. We Oleanders may not use as much science as you, but our religious beliefs do a very good job of filling in the gaps of the scientific knowledge we don't have. Quote
Garmadon Posted May 3, 2016 Posted May 3, 2016 Very nice build, Phred, and great idea with the hinging interior like that! The exterior is excellent as well - the boardwalk, dome, and lanterns are great! - and that chandelier inside (only to mention one detail, it would take too long to name them all! ) is very good! Captain Dee Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Beautiful building. The exterior shape and roof look really nice and the golden cupola is a neat feature. I really like that interior as well with all the details. It's a fine addition to the colony even if it was based on something else. And the overview of the street gives a good look at your growing arrangement. Keep it up. Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 19, 2016 Author Posted May 19, 2016 Thank you for the complements Garmadon and Captain Dee. It's good see you're back in these waters Captain Dee. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 I see you have quite the town going on there Phred, I like the rich colonial feel your buildings have! I'd also like to see a shot of all your builds put together, or is that too soon? Quote
Capn Frank Posted May 20, 2016 Author Posted May 20, 2016 I'd also like to see a shot of all your builds put together, or is that too soon? Thank you Captain Green Hair. It is too soon. Nothing was complete beyond that shot, but that should be different after this weekend. We have another local event being used as a dry-run for Brick World Chicago. Quote
