Posted May 31, 20168 yr Hey it's me, Paupadros, you may know me from my Ideas account: https://ideas.lego.c...padros/activity Anyway, I'd like you to be completely honest with what you think. Please don't hesitate to comment. Magic Shop The Magic Shop is my very first big MOC and my first modular building. It's inspired on a traditional german old-timbered house. Designed in a perdod of 3 months (from December 2015 to February 2016), it is an absolute joy to look at, and an incredible achievement that I actually managed to finish it. I You can see how it's done, and the big proportions it has Facts and Figures: 2598 pieces Over a floor higher than Detective's Office (what modulars desperately need) Varied strucure and colours (Med&Dark Bley, Nougat & Tan) More EXTERIOR and less INTERIOR! No waste of bricks on play features The Minifigs A total of 6 figures, all in smiley faces, of course! Beautiful piano, lab desk and cubist painting Hope this hasn't bored you to death, write comments, they always help to improve. Sorry the images are blurry, I had to reduce their size dramatically.. Please comment! I'd love to know what you think!
May 31, 20168 yr Very attractive modular The timbered house look is great, and I like the red roofs And that's a great use of feathers for detailing on the facade
May 31, 20168 yr Author Thank you so much! I wasn't expecting such an early comment! Feathers are my favourite piece to add detail!
May 31, 20168 yr Very clever ideas sprinkled about. I like the timbered look and the dark red roof and the shape of the building with the front slope and side slope. I'm not sure on the large variety in front texture, but I like the color combination. And I'm a little unsure on the 6 wide arch next to the 4 wide arch on the main level. I like symmetry, but something feels off about the range there. One would think 2 of the same width arch, but I know it wouldn't work with that type of window there and then you'd have to fill in the gap with something else, granted it could be 1x2 tiles like you did in the center, but flanking each side. Either way, well done. I hate to nitpick. Good work.
May 31, 20168 yr Beautiful architecture... The color combination is great and you put a lot npu in the moc. Sweet result...
June 3, 20168 yr Great looking building!! Love the colour scheme and the decorative details. Nice work!!
June 5, 20168 yr Anyway, I'd like you to be completely honest with what you think. Please don't hesitate to comment. To be honest, I'm not a fan of your MOC though there are a lot of nice details. In my opinion, the proportions are a little bit off. The middle floor seems to be significantly lower than the top floor which looks imbalanced. Another issue is the mix of different textures (e.g. masonry and log bricks) and colors on the front of your building. To me it looks a little bit messy and takes away from the look of the facade as a whole. Fortunately, the vast majority of comments seems to be positive.
June 5, 20168 yr I always like the look of buildings with a lot of detail (which is something I am challenged with). And you nailed it! Nice work.
