Rolli Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 If you're following me on flickr you probably didn't get around seeing these - and you probably asked yourself once or twice if I lost my marbles. The past weeks I posted a series of vignettes following Harry's adventures in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets - with an almost daily upload (and a break of almost 4 weeks) from beginning to end. I was inspired by Marcel / marcu44, whose series I was following up with. Now I'm parting ways with Harry and the following weeks Kevin / StarWarsKev will cover the third book. Its about time that I present my vignettes in one post - there are 30 in total. One thing upfront: Some of the vignettes only work thanks to a little wizardry in the photoshop department. If you're offended by that - well.. your loss I only used this tool in a few exceptions and if you know me you should actually be used to it by now I didn't quote half of the book like I did over on flickr. Thats just too much - but if you haven't done so I recommend that you read the Harry Potter novels or watch the movies. And now... Off to Hogwarts! #001 - Dobby's Warning #002 - Petunia's Masterpiece #003 - The Burrow #004 - Breakfast and Letters #005 - Floo Powder #006 - Borgin and Burkes #007 - Flourish and Blotts #008 - King's Cross #009 - Flying to Hogwarts #010 - Snape's Office #011 - The Howler #012 - Mandrakes #013 - Pixie Pandemonium #014 - Eat Slugs! #015 - Mrs Norris #016 - The Rogue Bludger #017 - The Polyjuice Potion #018 - The Duelling Club #019 - Fawkes #020 - The Slytherin Common Room #021 - The Polyjuice Potion, Pt. 2 #022 - Tom Riddle's Diary #023 - Spiders, Spiders #024 - Heading off #025 - In the tunnels #026 - Revelations #027 - The Basilisk #028 - It's over #029 - Choices #030 - Freedom And this concludes Harry's second adventure. Many thanks if you paid attention until now. Many thanks also to those that supported me with their feedback during the past weeks - without you I would probably given up sooner or later Do you have a favourite scene? Here are all of them one last time next to each other: With magical regards Markus Quote
Duncan Young Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 All of these are fantastic! Incredible! Each masterpieces in their own right. All recognisable and each with great PU usage! Magnificent! Quote
Tariq j Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 These are amazing! The detail and accuracy packed into such a small scene works very well. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Amazing work! This must have taken quite a while. My favorites are 10, 13, and 20. Quote
Ecclesiastes Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 I've been following these for sure on Flickr! (Not commenting much, busy and stuff, blahblah. You know )And all of them are so awesome, you keep putting so much detail on such a small space! Quote
TheJiral Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 Mind blowing. At each picture I thought this would be the best vingette I've ever seen with lego ... and then came the next one... Quote
Khscarymovie4 Posted June 5, 2016 Posted June 5, 2016 These are amazing! My favorite is probably 26 . Quote

Foxes Productionz Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 WOW!! It's amazing to see how much detail and effort went into each one of these Great Work . I don't like picking favourites but if I had to I would say #4 I like how you captured the look of the Weaslys house and how all the chairs are unique and interesting. Also can't wait till the Prisoner of Azkaban. Quote
Vindicare Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 This is amazing! It's like a flip book of the movie itself. The builds are fantastic. Quote
lowlead Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Incredible stuff - just brilliant, every last one of them...and I'm not even a HP fan. Although it may seem like a small element, I believe the manner in which you used lighting makes these vignettes special. Your shadowy, ominous lighting perfectly captures the dark tone that is ever-present in these films. Bravo, sir! Quote
evanridpath Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 This series has been great to follow, it's truly amazing how much detail you can pack in these recognizable scenes! Well done! Quote

TheLegoDr Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 These are incredible! It is unfortunate that you have to use Photoshop for some of the effects since I'd love to have ALL of these built on display on my shelves in my LEGO room! Granted, I know some of these neat techniques are really fragile also. After seeing Marcel's and these, it definitely would inspire me to create my own from the movies, but I don't know how to do any editing and I like it in real brick, so it would be a bit tricky for me to follow suit (and make anything half as impressive as these) Keep up the good work! Wout Posted June 12, 2016 Posted June 12, 2016 These are awesome. I watched the series based on the first book also and it is a very nice collaboration. Quote
Trolleke Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 I love them all ! Especially the howler ! Keep them coming. Quote
Rolli Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 Sorry for the belated response, the Fanweekend In Portugal had me pre-occupied. Thank you all for the kind comments, I'm glad you like my adventures with Harry! Amazing work! This must have taken quite a while. My favorites are 10, 13, and 20. Certainly! Most of them were built in a day each but the Basilisk for example took me a couple of days. Also had to take a break in between as I was traveling. Great choices! Mind blowing. At each picture I thought this would be the best vingette I've ever seen with lego ... and then came the next one... I follow you on flickr, because you did an awesome job on this theme! [...] I loved Harry potter when i was young, and i see nostalgie when i see your building! Thank you, I appreciate it! :) The nostaligia I got with Marcel's series was the reason I started doing this. Harry meant so much to me as a kid so I jut had to do it These are awesome. I watched the series based on the first book also and it is a very nice collaboration. Thank you! Without Marcel this wouldn't have been possible (he even borrowed me minifigs when mine were left behind at an event ) and the whole collaboration concept makes this project so special. So I'm glad you like it! I love them all ! Especially the howler ! Keep them coming. If you'd like to see the third book being done check out the photo stream of a friend of ours who's tackling Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban in his own style. Thanks again! Best Markus Quote
