Lego2016Lego Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I am making a mini crawler, it is 4-wheel drive, have flex axle suspension (need to buy the flex axles), and steering. I need to get flex axles and a smaller battery box. I also need to make a better body. This is based of a H1 Hummer like this: http://www.thehummerguy.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/img_8875.jpg I based some of my frame of a Pego Suzuki Samurai Rock Crawler http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=136280 but not much. With some fine tuning, your bodywork will be also better, maybe like an old american truck. :) Please make test video too. Quote

Nice to see someone uses the LDD files I'm making The front axle seems great, but you should lengthen the steering rack by 2 studs if possible, so that it doesn't get reverse ackerman. Also the bodywork seems a little narrow, I'd maybe widen it by 2 studs. Quote

I would consider moving up to the 62.4mm D. x 20mm tires (from the Mercedes Arocs set) as it will not only have better ground clearance, but it will also have better performance. It depends on the situation, here I'd keep these tires as larger ones raise the COG and makes it prone to tipping, also the ground clearance seems fine. Better performance? Depends, for rocks sure, but mud, sand and other stuff not so much, it's all down to preference. Also larger tires means more torque through the cv joints making them pop easily. So keeping those tires is my advise. Quote
