SilentWolf Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 (edited) Corrington, being the orderly country that it is, does not let its citizens go unrewarded for the services rendered to the crown. The need for more ships in the Sea of Storms had caused the Crown to call for companies and individuals to refit captured ships to prepare them to defend the nations shipping and settlements. Wolf's Equine, Trading, and Expedition Company had refitted four of these captured ships over the last several months including the HMS Hunter and HMS Bagg of Bolton. In gratitude for WETEC's services, the crown had granted them right's to two of the warships that had been captured in May. The first of these is setting sail. I introduce to you, the Don Obello. Formerly owned by a pirate who apparently had a desire for his ship to be extraordinarily fancy. Even with its flashy looks, the Don Obello was a very fast craft that should easily run down the average pirate. Boasting 16 cannons it would give even the larger ships in the Sea of Storms a sturdy battle. (If only the pirate had worked as hard at preparing his men for battle as he did at making his ship fancy it would have seized several merchant vessels rather than being seized.) The Don Obello is a 5LA as it is a warship. Edited July 11, 2016 by SilentWolf Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Great vessel ! The sleek design really gives the feeling of a rapid ship ! Your colour choice is excellent too. Good job ! Quote
Garmadon Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Very nice curves and lovely color-scheme, Silentwolf, and I really like the sails as well! Certainly my favorite ship from you yet - keep up the improvement! Quote
Capt Wolf Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Lovely ship! Great lines! I really like the decorations. And I have to take a closer look at that bow. I like it! Well done! Quote
Kai NRG Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Very nice ship, I really like the colors and the sleek shape. The golden details are great too! Quote
blackdeathgr Posted July 11, 2016 Posted July 11, 2016 Nice shape and great decorations! I am still laughing about the cat trying to climb on the mast! Quote
Ayrlego Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Wow that's one great looking ship SilentWolf and most importantly she's one of ours! Nice colour scheme, great looking crew and I really like the sail plan. Fantastic job! Quote
Puvel Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 Lovely ship, colour combination is great and the decoration looks very nice. Those little canons are excellent too Quote
SilentWolf Posted July 12, 2016 Author Posted July 12, 2016 Great vessel ! The sleek design really gives the feeling of a rapid ship ! Your colour choice is excellent too. Good job ! Thank you! I was trying to create the narrower feel while staying on the prefab hulls. I also was using the method of tumblehome from Captain Green Hair's Tutorial which turned out well I thought even in this shorter wall. Very nice curves and lovely color-scheme, Silentwolf, and I really like the sails as well! Certainly my favorite ship from you yet - keep up the improvement! I feel the dark red and gold worked really well together. I am pleased to know others thought so as well. Lovely ship! Great lines! I really like the decorations. And I have to take a closer look at that bow. I like it! Well done! Here is a better view of the bow. Don Obello6 by SilentWolf Legos, on Flickr Very nice ship, I really like the colors and the sleek shape. The golden details are great too! Thank you! Nice shape and great decorations! I am still laughing about the cat trying to climb on the mast! Somebody noticed the cat! I felt like the ship needed a little levity to the scene. There was another cat in the ship but once the sails were placed I couldn't get a good view of it. Wow that's one great looking ship SilentWolf and most importantly she's one of ours! Nice colour scheme, great looking crew and I really like the sail plan. Fantastic job! I was aiming for a varied crew, which is an advantage in LDD. I did learn that you have to make sure not to use faces with two sides. Nice ship! I like the colours you used! Thank you Lovely ship, colour combination is great and the decoration looks very nice. Those little canons are excellent too I like this style of brickbuilt cannons best, but I don't have the right pieces to build it in real Legos. Since I was using LDD I decided I should actually make them for a change. Quote
Elostirion Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Very pretty colourscheme, great MOC. I love how you integrated all those small elements. Quote
TitusV Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 Awesome ship, if I had to pick one favoured detail it'd be the amazing colourscheme, didn't know dark red and tan worked so well together Quote
Bregir Posted July 20, 2016 Posted July 20, 2016 Beautiful schooner, Silentwolf. Her lines are very pretty, and I like the way you have built her overhanging bow and stern with wedge plates. It almost makes her look like she has a xebec hull. I am absolutely loving those little guns, and is already starting to consider if I have the bricks for such guns myself. The rigging is quite good too, and I am impressed how well these brick built sails work out. However, I would not want to be part of the crew with all that brass to polish! And with such warships in private hands, one wonders what causes they will be fighting for! Quote

Awesome ship, if I had to pick one favoured detail it'd be the amazing colourscheme, didn't know dark red and tan worked so well together Thank you! The color is actually "Warm Gold" in LDD, but it definitely renders more of a tan color. The dark red worked way better than I expected. Beautiful schooner, Silentwolf. And with such warships in private hands, one wonders what causes they will be fighting for! Thank you Bregir. I always look forward to hearing from those of you with more knowledge of sailing vessels as it helps figure out where I need to improve and where I have done well. The sails were a pain to start building but once I got each one started it wasn't too hard to complete. I had considered making them look wind filled, but I was afraid it would make them too thick. Also I was running out of time to get it done before the MRCA. Definitely a lot of polishing to be done. ;) Have no fear of any nefarious intentions. We will be too busy polishing and selling horses to commit to any schemes. Quote
