Axle Posted December 30, 2007 Posted December 30, 2007 (edited) 39a Well, here is a ship I made. Nothing special compared to the ones I've seen here, but I like it. It is The Majestic The sails are custom, but the flag is by Col.Whipstick. Front: Side: Back: More of the back: And the minifigs ( The one in the middle and left have custom hats and eyepatches put on.) A nice shot of the crew onboard: I might have pictures of my smaller ship The pelican up soon. Gallery when public: HERE Edited September 19, 2009 by SlyOwl Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted December 30, 2007 Governor Posted December 30, 2007 It's a mighty fine effort Mr Axle but it's a bit difficult to see the ship because of the picture quality. It might pay to take another picture of the ship in constant lighting, I wouldn't recommend taking pictures of something in dim lighting with sun light flooding in from the background. Quote
Axle Posted December 30, 2007 Author Posted December 30, 2007 I've put better, but not too much better pics up. oh and the sails are made from Scrap book pages! the cardboard is slightly harder then the Official sails, but it works! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted December 30, 2007 Eurobricks Emperor Posted December 30, 2007 This looks like a very seaworth vessel! I suggest to take some pics in daylight (in the garden for example). Then we can better see all the details of this fine pirate ship. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 2, 2008 Governor Posted January 2, 2008 I've put better, but not too much better pics up Would you like to borrow my Canon EOS 400? >:-) Quote
zouave Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Very nice job. You made a great ship without the regular hull pieces. I think the best part is the sail, it looks perfect. *y* Quote
El Bucanero Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Making a judgement from these pictures wouldn't be really fair would it? I shall comment on the ship when there are better pictures. Although from what I can see it doesn't look bad! The pictures of the custom hats are quite good though. How did you make those? Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Cool to see how people can improvise without having the brown hull parts. I'm guessing you don't have that much Pirate Lego which is a good thing when it comes to MOCing as it encourages greater creativity, the sort of thing we saw more in the days when Basic Lego was the only thing going. What did you use to make the customised hat and eye patches? I'd like to see some more metalic stuff get into the Pirates range and really wish Lego had made silver helmets for the Armada forces rather than or in addition to the black helmets which don't feel right for Conquistadors for me. Axle Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 Well, the Eyepatches and hats were made from the same material. Name tag paper! But I made it a bit harder. but I forget how. :-( Quote
Capn Frank Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 (edited) Nice work captain Axle. Very innovative on work with the eye patches and hats. *y* There is a reserved parking space in row 39, column D in the Index of MOC Ships for this fine ship. X-D P Edited January 3, 2008 by phred Quote
Axle Posted January 3, 2008 Author Posted January 3, 2008 Oh, wow! Two of my MOCs put into indexes! Thanks a lot! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 4, 2008 Governor Posted January 4, 2008 Making a judgement from these pictures wouldn't be really fair would it? We don't always have the luxury of better pictures so we better make do with what we have. Is it possible to get a close-up picture of the flag? Quote
Axle Posted January 4, 2008 Author Posted January 4, 2008 http://eurobricks.hosting.ipsyn.com/eurofo...showtopic=13520 It's the John Rackham flag. 3rd one down on the link I gave you. Quote

john cleese Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 You need more color consitency. It's just too colorful. Also the back is a little bulky and you should add some windows facing the back, it looks a little breezy in there. ;) She be a fine vessel other than that. Quote
iamded Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 It looks like a lovely ship, and the white and red stripe make it look very nice. A little too nice, in fact some slight modifications could turn this into a nice little modern boat. *sweet* Still, it's a neat pirate ship. *y* ~Peace Quote
