jcole208 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) 39b Pirates of the Caribbean Black Pearl Check out this is a custom-made kit. I modified a complete LEGO Black Seas Barracuda kit to replicate the Black Pearl in the movie series Pirates of the Carribean. I spent a good bit of time finding all the parts I needed to build this -- some of them are quite expensive and hard to find. This is definitely a collector's item. BTW it's for sale on eBay Edit by Phred: moved images to a permanent location to one of 'pirate-forum's' folders. Edited September 19, 2009 by SlyOwl Quote
Piranha Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Thats awesome!! *wub* *wub* The detail is incredible! I especially like the torn sails! captures the Movie version perfect! Excellent job! If its rightly priced I might bid on it ;-) P Quote
Captain Ka-Boom Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Great Pearl. Only problem is brown hull. Oh well cant be fixed. Finally a MOC please bring more in. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Ah, a real BLACK seas barracuda! Why do you sell such a nice MOC? Quote
iamded Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Fantastic MOC! Looks very eerie, great job! ~Peace Quote
General Zen Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Amazing black pearl! I love pirates of the carribean until the plot got really complicated and the movies were three hours long! X-D Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 11, 2008 Governor Posted January 11, 2008 This is definitely a collector's item. If you get a good price for this one will you create another for auction? BTW it's for sale on eBay Images on eBay auction pages are only temporary so we'll need to upload them to another location otherwise we'll have broken image links in a few months. Phred or Mr Tiber can take care of that. Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 Very cool... It's smart thinking to try sell something like this while POTC is still well known but at the same time it's a shame to lose such an MOC. So long as we have preserved photos. Did ou know there are personalized POTC faces and torsos available in the library that could have complemented your model, perhaps next time add those and it would sell for more. Quote

Phred or Mr Tiber can take care of that. Done! *y* Nice work on your MOD jcole208! It is too bad about the brown hull |-/ , but oh well. :-) Hope your auction goes well. *y* Hope you don't mind, but i've copied the images you've provided into our 'pirate-forum' album at photobucket. Also, i've added this ship to the Index of MOC Ships, and i have the thumb-link going to the photobucket folder. P Quote
Admiral Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 its amazing! the shredded sails are a nice addition, and the detail is really nice, well done! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted January 11, 2008 Governor Posted January 11, 2008 Done! *y* Thank you Phred! And congratulations for earning yourself a position on the new Classic-Pirates.com Contacts page. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted January 11, 2008 Posted January 11, 2008 (edited) That is truly amazing! *y* It looks very good in black, just like the black pearl! Hope you get lots of money for your Ebay auction! BTW, I like your sails very much. :-) Edited January 11, 2008 by Lord Of Pies Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted January 11, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted January 11, 2008 You sure did a good job on this ship, but I wouldn't buy it. I'm no fan of the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I hope you get a good price. Thank you Phred! And congratulations for earning yourself a position on the new Classic-Pirates.com Contacts page. That's well earned! The new contact page on Classic-pirates look very good. Quote
jcole208 Posted January 11, 2008 Author Posted January 11, 2008 If you get a good price for this one will you create another for auction? Haven't decided. POTC might not be popular for very long. Quote
SlyOwl Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Haven't decided. POTC might not be popular for very long. Aye, but what if the person who came second in the bidding still wants one? Nice job, although IMHO it's a little too black - I made one like it a while back and (a) the dust shows up soooo much, and (b) it is a little plain to look at - no colour! I was bidding on one just like it a year ago (BSB based too) and it went for $240, although there was an SES thrown in - ye can expect a good price! SlyOwl Quote
SirNadroj Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Very nice model. It's got an official LEGO look to it. Great job! *y* But please, don't advertise it on my MOC Pages. :-D Thanks! ;-) Quote
jcole208 Posted January 13, 2008 Author Posted January 13, 2008 (a) the dust shows up soooo much, and (b) it is a little plain to look at - no colour! SlyOwl I decided to leave the decks gray, so that breaks up the black a bit and dust won't show up on it as much. Quote
