Shadows Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Well, my first Brickmaster set arrived today and I was surprised on two counts. First, it's in Brickmaster packaging. Basically an oversized bagged set with 'BrickMaster' emblazoned across the top. Second, it's set 20001. First I've seen of a set in the 20 thousands before. Ages 6+ 103 Pieces No clue what to name it. It's basically a small blue flying mech, much like the kind you'd get in a pod set, except LEGO has done the unthinkable and is using minifig leg assemblies as fingers. *can sense the despair in poor Sinner's heart, even before he reads this* 8- Quote
Siegfried Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I was wondering if Lego would be forced to open up the numbers soon. Thanks for the review. *sweet* It's basically a small blue flying mech, much like the kind you'd get in a pod set, except LEGO has done the unthinkable and is using minifig leg assemblies as fingers. *can sense the despair in poor Sinner's heart, even before he reads this* 8- Quote
Brick Miner Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 you may not mind it sinner, but i don't like it one bit. what has LEGO come too :-| Quote
Bionic-Sun Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 I like it. It's small and inventive. What's wrong with a different use of minfig legs? Quote
natelite Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 it's batman mecha. it was featured in previous brickmaster magazine. i guess they made it into a set. a BM set but it's still a set. :-D i guess that confirmed it. the mar/apr set will be that fireman set. and the may/jun set will be the mini dino set. that ends my subscription. will wait to see if the jul/aug set is worth picking up before i subscribe for another year. so far i can't say i was thrilled. it's mostly meh for me. Brickmaster Posted January 14, 2008 Posted January 14, 2008 Ironically enough, given my name, I don't have a brickmaster subscription, and doesnt look like im missing out too much on this particular set. I remember one creator set for 10$ had 3 bots very like this (which I.. bought..) I also remember back when brickmaster first started and there was a contest for who could make the best name for the new subscription? Guess what I entered? :-D 'Brickmaster'.. but im sure hundreds of others did too? :-$ Well anyway, apart from my little ramble, I hope the next set will be more interesting, perhaps to a theme and whatnot. ;-) Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 They actually used that technique a while ago on one of the best sets they ever made...the Titan XP *wub* So it's not really a new technique Quote

Brickmaster Posted January 18, 2008 Posted January 18, 2008 I get a little image that says:Cookies must be enabled Go figure. I probably have "accept cookies from sites other than the site you're on" turned off. I see the same thing :-$ However I wholeheartedly agree the TitanXp is an amazing set! It's actually my favourite set. Ever. I own two :-$ Id buy many more if they were still out. Quote
Starwars4J Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 There, I edited one in from Bricklink Happy? :-| :-P Quote
Zaktan of the Shadows Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 Hmmm... intresting. It doesn't look bad... I guess these are worth the subscription? I really like it... it looks awesome. Well, then again, everything Lego is just about cool to me (and I am a harsh critic). :-D -ZotS Quote
Shadows Posted January 19, 2008 Author Posted January 19, 2008 There, I edited one in from BricklinkHappy? :-| :-P No, now you've gotten me in the mood for cookies. :'-( As for that Titan XP, it looks like he's holding two minifigs in his clutched fists, about to squeeze the life out of them as they attempt to wiggle free. Oh, the humanity! 8- Quote
iamded Posted January 19, 2008 Posted January 19, 2008 They actually used that technique a while ago on one of the best sets they ever made...the Titan XP *wub* Although they look ridiculously small on that compared to this Brickmaster set. X-D As for the Brickmaster set itself, it's not bad, and it's not terribly great. It's nice. ~Peace Quote
Siegfried Posted January 24, 2008 Posted January 24, 2008 What's wrong with a different use of minfig legs? I don't like any part usage that I percieve as damaging beyond intended use. But in this case, I feel the samw way as imperialshadows...
