WetWired Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 After seeing the new space theme, and thinking back to my old favorites I had as a child, and being bored, I thought I'd try and recreate one of the earliest space sets I remember having. I'm limited to Lego Digital Designer for the moment unfortunately though :( Here's my version of the revamped space set "6841 Mineral Detector" I've tried to keep the same proportions roughly, there's more joins in the detector arms for extra flexibility :) and the steering wheel has been replace with an adjustable console that sits over the drivers lap. Original Anyone else got any revamped old sets to post? Quote
SirNadroj Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 I don't have any revamped sets, but "Wow!", nice job! That is a really great idea, and your MOC looks even better than the original, and more detailed. I will make a suggestion, however, and say that I think your MOC would be even more recognizable as 6841 if you add one more small wheel to each side. Just a suggestion. But good job! *y* Quote
xwingyoda Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Nice job there WetWired ;-) I'll move that to the space forum ;-) *yoda* Quote
KDog Posted March 2, 2008 Posted March 2, 2008 Oh, WOW, is that awesome. Very sleek design! You should be designing some new Space sets for Lego. If you post that to S@H, I'll buy it! Quote
xenologer Posted March 3, 2008 Posted March 3, 2008 Anyone else got any revamped old sets to post? 6896 Well, since you asked... but I'm not so sure if its a great idea to have everyone's MOCs in this single thread... might get picture intensive. So Im putting the big ver Here. Maybe what you could do is create an index for Revamped classic space sets? Quote
WetWired Posted March 3, 2008 Author Posted March 3, 2008 cool, I might have to try the hub trick on my next revamp, for those that are interested I've uploaded it to factory http://shop.lego.com/Product/Factory/Produ...04-856e86d40ebf to either buy or just download the file for yourself and modify it all you want Quote
PaulC Posted March 9, 2008 Posted March 9, 2008 That's a really nice design, Wetwired. It stays faithful to the original but looks very modern at the same time. I particularly like the use of the jet pieces on the back, the rear mudguards and the design of the scanning arms. I also love the way you've placed it on the lunar landscape. I think I might try that with some of my own LDD creations. Quote
Steam Engineer Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 Hi, Heres 2 ive done quite recently Galactic Mediator 6984 Galaxy Commander 6980 I like the big ships, more to come! Nick Quote
Asuka Posted March 18, 2008 Posted March 18, 2008 A very fine work, Steam Engineer, the color scheme of your Galactic Mediator´s beautiful, and the rear part of your Galaxy Commander looks simply great. *y* Quote
Steam Engineer Posted March 19, 2008 Posted March 19, 2008 Thank you Asuka, cant see very much at that angle, i actually made the whole section wider by about 2 studs, few more shots here of that rear section. Folder for Commander the mediator was just a matter of a simple yet effective change of color scheme. Folder for Mediator Nick Quote
