Hobbes Posted June 14, 2005 Posted June 14, 2005 mister_phes, have you seen this? Found it on LUGNET and thought you (or anybody else for that matter) might like it ;) (dial-up users watch out - lots of pics to download!) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 No Hobbes! Haven't check LugNET for ages! Good find. Its magnificent, but doesn't accurately depict a barque. There is another MOC on LugNET that looks much more historically accurate in regards to design. I think the creator has them confused with Brigs/Brigattines, because that's what this resembles to me. I'll find the other barque MOC later. Right now I need a nap. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 Really? I never would have worked that out for myself... Using the 7075 presents some difficulties, and the hull pieces are quite different to work with compared to the traditional hull pieces. Tumblehome is incorporated into the hull pieces, but it Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 7, 2005 Governor Posted July 7, 2005 Whatever colour the sails are isn't going to save the ship from the rest of its colours! Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 This MOC is an example that 7075's hull is not a bad thing. The set itself has a lot of pieces I don't like, but the hull is really worth getting. I'm still wondering if I should get one (I mean the whole set unfortunately, buing only the hull parts would be a great solution but for me it's almost impossible). Quote
snefroe Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 sorry to revive this topic as well, people, just this note: as some one on lugnet wrote: it should be "DodelijkE klompschoen". the first word means "deadly" the second word is a variant of "klomp", which means a "wooden shoe"; a wooden shoe is a typical shoe the dutch farmers used to wear... so basically your ship is called: "Deadly wooden shoe" Quote
Sting Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 I saw this yesterday and was incredibly impressed. The colors are kind of wierd, but I don't mind them that much. The rest of it makes up for it! It inspires me alot. That 4+ Hull doesn't seem too bad after seeing this. Well, yes it does, but at least SOMETHING good can be done with it. Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 so basically your ship is called: "Deadly wooden shoe" This silly name would rather fit the original 7075 than this fantastic MOC... :) Quote
languages Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Awsokme, I love the use of the 4+ boat hull. Shame it doesnt use real Lego sails..... Quote
Dreamweb Posted October 12, 2005 Posted October 12, 2005 Well, original 7075's cartoony sails would seriously spoil this ship's image. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 14, 2005 Governor Posted October 14, 2005 Ahhhh... But Dreamweb didn't necessarily mean 7075 sails, which I'd agree would spoil it and perhaps are the worst LEGO pirate ship sails to date. Quote
metallifreak44 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Ah, Sting. So this is the ship you told me about that used the 4+ boat hull. I'm impressed, it's actually a fine set. Well done to the designer! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2005 Governor Posted October 15, 2005 Custom sails... We can do custom sails... Quote
Norro Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 Custom sails... We can do custom sails... hmmm... God Bless, Nathan Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 15, 2005 Governor Posted October 15, 2005 I do believe the MOC at the top of this thread has custom sails... I've created a whole new thread to discuss those because I want to go in depth about it. Here's a link for all those too lazy to find it manually: Custom Sails Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 6, 2006 Posted October 6, 2006 At least with that Dungstain Ship (or whatever the Harry Potter ship is called) we're getting a brown hull. To bad that it came out black :-(....not that is is great to use but okay... Quote
Legeaux Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 No Hobbes! Haven't check LugNET for ages! Good find. Wow. A thread about one of my vessels, before my time here! Its magnificent, but doesn't accurately depict a barque. No? How so? I'm pretty sure it does. There is another MOC on LugNET that looks much more historically accurate in regards to design. I think the creator has them confused with Brigs/Brigattines, because that's what this resembles to me. Well, I did originally intend rigging it as a brig, but in the in end felt that the size justified the inclusion of a mizzen, so I guess you're partly right, except for the bit about me being confused, of course. ;) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 9, 2006 Governor Posted October 9, 2006 This your splendid vessel Mr Legeaux? Excellent! You can answer a few questions about it now you're here and assuming you'll check this thread again! My first question is: What does Dodelijk Klompschoen mean in English? Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 That was answered on the first page of the thread. "Deadly wooden shoe" or more likely "Deadly Clog" Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted October 9, 2006 Governor Posted October 9, 2006 Well obviously someone didn't bother to check the first page of this thread. SHAME ON THEM!!! Quote
EXO-CHAMP Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 Aye. 10 lashes or walk the plank Mr. Phes? Quote
El Bucanero Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 sorry to revive this topic as well, people, just this note:as some one on lugnet wrote: it should be "DodelijkE klompschoen". the first word means "deadly" the second word is a variant of "klomp", which means a "wooden shoe"; a wooden shoe is a typical shoe the dutch farmers used to wear... so basically your ship is called: "Deadly wooden shoe" Here is the post... The ship deserves a better name!!! Okay, it does look like a wooden shoe a bit because of the square shape of the hull, but despite of that it deserves a better name. Mr Legeaux, your ships are great but what is wrong with you if it comes to names!! You give them wrong names!! For example this ship, and don't forget le Mis Quote
