VBBN Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Set: Lego Road Construction Set Number: 6187 Pieces: 300 Bought From: TRU Price: $20.99, €14.45 Well, today I took a trip to my TRU, to spend left over vacation money. And I felt that Module City needed some construction aid and I needed wheels too. So, enjoy the review! Box: Well, here you can see my haul from the store. Not much, but still good. Nothing much to comment on. Parts: I will detail this section heavily. The main purpose of this set is parts, not models. So I will show all the parts. First, the contents: Two large, 1 medium, and 2 small. Some loose pieces, and an instruction book. 1 of the bags. Lots of rims. More parts. This mainly includes the rubber, a second windshield, and a shovel. The two minibags, and loose parts. Overall, very nice! Build: The instructions show how to build the three models. Here they are. Steamroller: I expect Quality, and quantity. I got neither. The quality of this roller is poor, and nothing very special to it. MODing on! Quantity? Not a ton of parts. But alright IMO. BullDigger: Nice! Moving arms(for dump truck), treadsm new body design, and a nice cockpit. Dumptruck: DOORS!!! Yes, it's true, it comes with doors. It has a nice cockpit, and a huge dumper. Parts: 9/10 (Lots of wheels and basic parts, and doors.) Price: 9/10 (100 parts over. *sweet* ) Figs: 6/10 (Only one, but it's creator, so meh) Overall: 80% Overall I would definatly recommend this to anyone, either for partss or the set. Now, here is a pic of the sets, and the leftover parts. I will need to MOD that roller though. Thanks for reading and please comment! *sweet* Quote
xenologer Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 (edited) Thanks for the review. I'd seen this on shelves but kept passing it up as a 'kiddie' starter set. The dump truck is definetly the best looking of the models here. Didn't realize it had those doors. Very hard to find, but are they worth 20$ to me.... Ill have to consider this. *looks again at last pic* *doubletake* Oh, you get to have that big pile of bricks leftover in addition to the 3 models at the same time? Now it's almost looking not so bad, I'll have to take up house-building to use up all those blocks and beams tho... Oh but why why did it have to be that minifig with the horrendous grin...Already stuck with 2 of him from those airplane mechanic sets.... Edited March 29, 2008 by xenologer Quote
ExoBuilder Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 It's ok VBBN, we all grow building skill at different times X-D Nice review, nice set. I just need to put 2 and 2 together. I wouldn't use these in a city though, that steamroller has a bumpy looking roller :-| *sweet* Quote

I bought it for the doors, wheels, and windshields personally. The rest of the bricks will be tossed into my bins. Quote
PaulC Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Great review VBBN! Minifig car doors! Lots of other neat pieces! I got this set after I saw your review and the general theme of it inspired me to build this (I used about 10 bricks from this set and a lot of others). Quote
Asuka Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Thanks for that neat review, ~VBBN~, a very nice set. Of course I especially like that cool red truck, car doors on! Quote
