spray-painted baseplates

i was wondering if you spray painted a baseplate would the paint rub off when you plant bricks on?

Wouldn't it depend on what kind of spray paint you use?

I did this once, i found it hard to put the pieces on it due to the extra width provided by the paint, i would only recomend it if your going to build on it once and then never use it again...
