i voted yes

pioneer, because i think we could get great structures, minfigs and parts

a mining scene, because, well isn't that what WW is all about

other, for the parts

tan baseplates, i find they are so useful!

Let's see...

Yes.

Pioneers. That would be cool. (I'd love a Raccoon skin cap! )

Wagon Wheels. They are some of the most useful elements in other themes besides WW (Pirates, for example. Castle, too. And 1800's Traveling Italian Barbers. )

The rest of my answers are not that important. =-D

1) Yes!

2) Traditional WW - I'd really like an updated version of the existing WW theme, (eg. Cavalry with dark blue torsos and caps, light blue legs  ), as well as an expansion on the theme

3) More Town Buildings - I would absolutly love a saloon and a stables

4) WW history buff - I've studied quite a bit on the migration to the West and the Indian Wars - and I love it!

5) Minifigs - they were all just so brilliant, especially the Indians. All of the nice headgear was great too.

I would like the traditional approach with more tan baseplates and maybe a train or two like the amazing stuff brickminer made. I love the wild west theme and I bet some modern re-vamping would produce very interesting results!

  1. Yes!
  2. Zorro!
  3. Steam trains
  4. History buff
  5. Tan baseplates

I realise that #'s 2 and 3 contradict each other, but I'd like both anyway. No reason we can't have a multidimentional return to WW. I think it might even be the thing that would make it work.

Give one end the towns (ghost or not), mines, and trains with cavalry, cowboys and indians. Throw in some Chinese to lay the train tracks and settlers in wagons. How about a buffalo?

Give the other end Zorro sets with a Mexican army, some native population and borderline Pirate influences. I'd take a donkey. Wouldn't you?

Give them both some normal citizens.

And please give me tan baseplates. I'm tired of buying used ones, and I'm tired of them all being 16x32. I want some 32x32's without tracks or a river! (though I'm glad to have both)

Bring it back, bring it all back and then some!

Even though I am not a true WWW (sorry but for me WW stands for Worl War) fan, I did take that survey that I find very interesting !!

On Q1 I voted it depends. I am not a fan per se but I'm always for good parts and Mfs.

On Q2 I voted for the historical battles of the 1800 !! As a history fan I would love to recretate huge battlefields I visited like Manassas (or Bulls Run depending...) and so many US civil war sites.

Thgat would be fantastic for army builders and would be perfect to have new sweet ships !!

On Q3 I voted other. OK I am not a fan from the original line but I voted for army builders set !! Sure there are the blue cavalery dudes, but I'm really missing the guys in grey !!

On Q4 I voted history buff. I loved those classical western movies and especially the Wild Bunch (the best of them all !!).

On Q5 I voted cannons. I love those parts and I really miss them !!

That's a great and very interesting poll, TheBrickster!

I voted for:

Do you want Lego to design a new Wild West theme?

=> Yes, definately!

The WW theme was a so    theme that it would be a shame if TLG doesn't let it come back!

If Lego were to offer a new WW theme, what would you like to see?

=>Traditional WW (expand the theme from the 90s)

The WW theme of the years 1996/97 was one of the best of all themes Lego ever released! I would be very, very happy if TLG would release more WW sets which could go with all the buildings, minifigs, the size, the vehicles etc. of that theme. For me a train with a train station and a water tower and some Ghost Town sets, too, are things that surely will and have to be released if TLG brings back the WW theme - but why shouldn't they be in the same style as the "old" WW theme :sceptic: ?!

What did Lego most fail to offer in their WW theme from the 90s?

=> Windmills, Water Towers, and Other WW Train Structures

Of course it would be very neat to see some more buildings - a saloon and a post office with a stage coach would be absolutely necessary - but the most fail TLG did in the "old" WW theme was that they did not include a train with a train station and a water tower. Besides I think that this was one of the reasons why the "old" WW theme ostensibly wasn't that success. I mean: A WW theme without a steam train and a adapted train station is like a vegetable shop without vegetables  !

Why do you like the WW Theme?

=> Playability

The playability is the most important reason why I really like the WW theme - the "old" WW theme offered so much playability. But secondly the buildings themselves, the vehicles and the minifigs were very, very well desgined, too  !

What piece(s) do you most value from the WW theme?

=> Green doors and windows

I really  those nice windows - they made the buildings very realistic!

Hopefully this poll will help tp convince TLG of bringing back the WW theme!

Do you want Lego to design a new Wild West theme?

Yes. I am a fan of any historical based themes. I also think there was a lot of area that was left uncovered by the short WW theme.

If Lego were to offer a new WW theme, what would you like to see?

I'm not quite sure what this is getting at. I'd like to see them continue the theme, but include areas/ideas like a ghost town, Mexico, pioneers, Indians, trains, gold mines, etc. I'm not really into WW meets space though (steampunk?). I can't really think of a good movie license and the tub idea doesn't do it for me. I like to have Lego designed models.

What did Lego most fail to offer in their WW theme from the 90s?

Cows? They are cowboys after all. This would probably fit under Pioneers or town. I think some pioneers with ox pulled wagons would be great.

Why do you like the WW Theme?

I'm recently getting into ghost towns and I'm a bit of a history guy. I guess its the history. I'm a sucker for any stereotypical/archtypial history theme.

What piece(s) do you most value from the WW theme?

The hats were cool, but I don't use them much. There was sagebrush? I do like the bugle, but the other stuff I have tons of. I think my personal favorite is the log bricks. They add such texture and variety to creations. Though I still don't get why they're vertical...

I voted as follows:

Q1. Definitely yes! I would love to be able to get some new WW sets, rather than the occasional used one. And I love all the historically based themes.

Q2. I voted to expand the original theme, but I would also like to see things like trains and train buildings etc, and that ties in with Q3.

Q3. There are all sorts of things! Firstly trains, especially a classic big black steam engine. That would be my dream WW set. I of course voted for trains here. We could also see some new town things though, as well as other animals than just horses and snakes. :sweet:

Q4. I like WW because I'm a history buff. I enjoy all the history based themes, and this is one I missed out on entirely! :cry_sad: Please bring it back! :sing:

Q5. The minifigs, they were so great and detailed. I liked lots of other pieces too, like the tan baseplates and cannons, as well as accessories and such, but the ninifigs were the things that stood out for me, they had some very nice prints. Although the large brown barrels and tree stumps are following very close behind.

Wow! It's great to see this many response toward bringing back the Wild West Theme. I didn't think that many of you would vote YES on Q1.

I'm still wondering why the large number of "Other" for the question relating to why you like the WW theme. This makes me feel that I've perhaps failed to include an important choice.

Even though I am not a true WWW (sorry but for me WW stands for Worl War) fan, I did take that survey that I find very interesting !!

Yoda: I always enjoy it when you respond to one of my threads/polls (esp. WWW). I feel that it's a good one now (no kidding).

--------------

In any case, it's interesting to see the large interest in this WW poll and your individual choices. Let's tell Lego they need to bring it back.
