This is my entry in the Star Justice/Space Skulls MOC contest over at Classic-Space.com, but I wanted to show it in here, as well. The contest, keep in mind, requires that your MOC be created in LDD.

Star Justice: Peacemaker

The Peacemaker is a thunderously fast ship tasked with tracking down and capturing the nefarious Space Skulls! The ship includes a detachable prison cell that can securely house one Space Skulls villain!

Notes: This model is inspired by the Galactic Peacekeeper from Space Police I. I wanted to bring back the idea of modular prison cells, which would seem to be a necessity for Star Justice as they combat and capture the Space Skulls. While LDD won't allow me to do it on screen, the Space Skulls minifig can be enclosed in the prison cell, and the prison cell can than be attached horizontally to the back of the ship.

UPDATED: See below for pix.

A cool and sleek craft, and the renewal of the space prison cell´s also pretty fine. The only thing I always missed with that kind of cell

transporting ship´s some mechanism to handle them, maybe a lifting arm could add some functionality and playability as well.... :classic:

I posted an earlier version of this model before shown through screencaps from LDD, but after I ordered the parts from Factory, I discovered that there were some problems with the construction. In the course of fixing those, I redesigned the ship to be more streamlined. I assure you that the actual model is true to what's available on LDD. I checked to make sure that every part I added to the actual model could also be done within LDD. In any case, you can see more pix, both from life and of the ship in LDD, here:

A very beautiful craft there KDog, It looks just like Star Justice and the construction is very clever. I'm no expert on space craft (I am still horrible at making them) but this is very nice, and the detachable prison cell is a cool add in too, can we please have a better look of it?

I really like the cockpit piece you used, did you get that from an Aquaraiders set? And the wings are nicely done too, I wish you luck in the contest!

Batbrick Away!

Thanks! I'm glad you think it fits in with Star Justice, since that's the point of the contest. There are some more views of the prison cell of you click on the link to the gallery. The cockpit was available in Lego Digital Designer, as all the pieces had to be.

Any chance we could have links to your LDD file and/or the page we can buy it on LEGO.com? It looks dang nice.

Lego hasn't approved it yet, but I'll post the link here when they do. I can also post a link for a version with less stickers applied, so it cuts down the price (although you'll still get enough sticker sheets.)

Yes! The Peacemaker can finally be viewed on Lego.com. I was getting worried, there. The image on the site looks pixelated, though. But you can d/l the instructions:

Nice. I wanted to buy it, but at nearly £40 it's a little too expensive for me. So, though I don't have the cockpit, I shall see what I can come up with based on your design. I recently made my own version of this Desk Model Fighter, and that turned out pretty good.

Thanks again for making your model available for us all to play with.

Bummer about the bricks! Maybe they'll come back in stock. The reason the ship is so expensive is because of all the stickers. I have to double check this, but I think you need two of each sheet. I could upload a version of the ship with just enough stickers applied to have what you need. If you didn't know, each sticker you apply in LDD gives you another sticker sheet! Or, you could build the ship yourself using parts you already have and just order the few you're missing from Factory.

BTW, I didn't win the contest. That sucks. Good MOCS won, though.

Seeing as I'm one of those people who never puts the stickers on anyway, do you know how much a version without any stickers at all would cost?

With stickers, it's USD $51.73. Without, USD $29.75. See, told you the stickers made a difference!

Wow!

Thats.. a lot of stickers.

Yeah, ... TLC needs to upgrade LDD to handle sticker sheets better.

Only add a new sheet when the last one is empty instead of one per brick...

Same goes for FlowerHead clusters on the sprue.

Wow... stickers ae really expensive.

Build wise: AWESOME JOB. 10/10, fits right in with the theme and looks real swooshible.

Yeah, great build. But that's not what really impressed me. I really liked how you presented it. The collage of pictures made me really know the model, and made it very TLCesque! Great job!

Wow, thanks a lot, Zepher!

I don't build a lot of MOCs, but when I do I like to make ships that have an old school feel to them. While I use SNOT, I'm not hung up on making everything look more realistic and high-tech, which I think has led people to create some great MOCs, but I don't think feel like actual Lego models. I'm not sure if I actually accomplished that with this MOC or whether it's just the collage, but all I know is I made an MOC that's the kind of ship I would have had lots of fun playing with as a kid. I'm not gonna pretend it's a perfect MOC - It's pretty fragile until you get everything in place and the cell door isn't perfect since it pops off once in awhile when you close it, but I was pretty happy overall. It might not have won the contest, but it will be one of the few MOCs to pop up in my comic, at least. :)
