Hinckley Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Following a request from Mr. Customizer in this thread to create this figure: I designed this torso: Please feel free to leave feedback. Thanks. Quote
Shadows Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 First, I'll say that it's nice to see figures from the games. TLG has been notoriously bad about producing things shown in the games, so customs are frequently our only chance to see them brought into reality. Now for the specifics here. That torso is dead on. I'm not sure what else to say there, it's like you ripped it straight out of the shot, it's perfect. Obviously the hair/plume thing is silly, and you mentioned elsewhere that you might try the leg decal, so I won't say much about either except that somehow, I expect that the hat could be done with a combination of clips and horns. At least tolerably so. Bottom line: Perfect torso. The beginning of a very professional custom figure. Quote

I, honestly, was considering posting a little message to you to alter it for me, because I knew it wasn't specific enough. But not only was I too lazy to research the character name, I was also to lazy to type that little sentence requesting your help. Quote
iamded Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Shadows is right, that torso's dead on! Great job Hinckley, it looks fantastic on the fig! ~Peace Quote
jamtf Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 The decal is perfect. As for the headdress.... I would rather have chosen an Achu temple priest headdress although that is not exactly accurate either and perhaps the yellow does not fit well with the flesh tone head. Quote
SirNadroj Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Like I said in the other thread, this is just perfect. Period. A leg design would be really nice! And I don't know if youve tackled anything like this yet, but if you wanted a little 'challenge', maybe you could try the red head painting, that way you wouldn't need a hat. Quote
Scouty Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Great decal Hinkley! It's really good, and spot on! I ♥ it! But why "Original Trilogy"? I wouldn't say there is a new trilogy Quote
MrCustomizer Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 (edited) It's perfect!!!!! Too bad I don't have enough money to buy all the stuff to put the decal on the Patric torso. And SirNadroj, I agree about the red head painting. But since I want to make all of the figs in my movie look just like they do in the Video game, I decided that wouldn't work. If it was my choice, I would use the natives from KotCS for Mola Ram, because they have better skin color for him. But whatever LEGO wants.. Oh and ImperialScouts, its "Original Adventures." If it were called the "Original Triligy", than I would agree with you. But is not, and I don't . Which hopefully clears that up. Edited May 18, 2008 by MrCustomizer Quote

the enigma that is badger Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 Beautiful work on the torso; it's spot-on to the game, and that design perfectly captures the essence of my personal favorite Thuggee cult leader. A hip-leg decal set might make the fig "pop" a bit more. You could do with dark red hips, then a leg decal similar to the Slave Leia fig: Setting that aside, black legs instead of brown might work a bit better to make the decal-leg transition a bit smoother. The helmet is probably the weakest element of the fig. It's certain not a deal-breaker, but this piece might work best: Honestly, until TLC sees fit to grant use a factory Mola Ram, this is perfect. Nice work! badger Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted May 18, 2008 Posted May 18, 2008 The torso looks excellent Hinckley! But i have too agree on the helmet and legs with the enigma tha is badger here, maybe even a decal on the legs for the red cloth thingy? Quote
Armothe Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 C'mon, get that dremel out and let's see a Mola Ram Headdress :) You're off to a great start! -A Quote
Hinckley Posted May 19, 2008 Author Posted May 19, 2008 *Googles dremel* *reads* er...okay. Hey, see you in a few weeks! Quote
Wout Posted May 20, 2008 Posted May 20, 2008 Decal looks great. Now a canyon with some hungry crocodiles to enjoy this tasty snack Quote
Clonecommando007 Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 That torso is so close to the figure in the game! Great work! Quote
mammymarf Posted May 28, 2008 Posted May 28, 2008 This is incredibly good and I agree with the enigma that is badger that helmet he showed is perfect just need to paint it correctly. Anyway awesome job looks just like the fig from the game! Quote
keetong Posted June 4, 2008 Posted June 4, 2008 'Cool' I like the detail on it. Its heaps good. Quote
