In a set that's being released this year us space nuts can get our hands on new red classic space minifigs! But it looks like the helmet is the new style, but still, new classic space torsos is fantastic!!

Get the feeling I'm a little excited?

Someone already has them on bricklink, but I'm not paying $30 for it, I'm sure that's way above RRP. Given at least one person has multiple copies, I guess it can't be long before they're widely available.

I like it, but I don't love it. I think they could have gone a lot more iconic for the other selections. Yes, the red classic-space is excellent, but the rest of those? Bleh. I could have given them a much better character assortment for those years, though I guess it will be a big seller anyway.

Can anyone say, "lots of cheap Dr. Jeckylls on Bricklink"?

I just noticed it said "Vol. 1" on the packet so maybe we will get a better assortment with future volumes, an old castle fig would be great and maybea fig from a newer space theme.

I'm hoping the same. I would have loved this if it had been Red space, Knights Procession, a Pirate, a Cowboy, and whatever for 2002, even something like Rock Raiders (was that still going?). Let's hope that vol 2 improves on the concept.

This is a very good mini-fig pack. It seemed to be a collector pack. Think they will be a series of it such as Volume II, III and more, I hope. Maybe, there will be other types of mini-figs too such as Classic Castle, Pirates, Wild West, and etc. :classic:

I don't like that they're using a new helmet on the Classic Spaceman, but it's still cool to have minty new red torsos with fresh gold logos! Isn't the red astronaut the rarest of the Classic astronauts?

It´s a neat set, but no "must have".

My hoping, too.

If you ask me: NO!

Actually it's one of the most common, black is the really rare one, probably followed by white.

Interesting set. I might pick up one or two if they're under $10. I don't mind the space guy's helmet as I like the newer helmets much better anyway.

The original classic space lineup came with only red and white, and yellow was added a year later. Black and blue came several years after that and were always pretty rare in comparison.

As others have said, the selection of the other four figures could have been better. The fireman and gas station guy are pretty generic. The Jailbreak Joe and Jekyll figs are not bad though. It might be fun to collect several of the former and create a prison with them.

I want! I have only one of each and I really don't care if they are new or old! (I make a poor collector! )

that is great news!! hope they're not glued!

Do you think they would do that? :cry_sad: I'm worried now...

Really? I have both of those! :sweet:

well the red space guy is the "most classic" of all space dudes, so i'll get a bunch of this set to replace older torsos if the price is not that bad... the helmet is from the second generation. the old helmet turned out to be fairly fragile and was replaced by this one, which was also the one to carry the large visors.

the fire dude is not the best fig ever but still pretty classic, i think. the others are to be ignored in my book... i'd rather had a pirate fig, a western soldier and a paradisa girl :sweet:

How in the world did they get these reprints?! Wouldn't LEGO make much more money if they simply gave us an option to buy re-prints of classic knights, classic forestmen? It would be similiar to Lego Factory.

I want to know if these are legit as well as I don't like to get my hopes up. Seeing that they combine various themes together, it's no surprise they will include castle....but you know what the horrible thing would be? That they would separate the themes, by including one infantry in one set, and in the third volume, include a wolf pack. That would mean that in order to mass classic sets of one theme, like having six wolf packs, or six infantry soldiers, you have to buy 6 sets each = 12 sets. I really doubt they will sell it at 9.99....afterall, these are classic figs, special sets. They'll go for at least $12.49+ USD. I'm hope I'm terribly wrong :cry_sad:

I have an idea on why they put that crazy looking doctor in there...it's gotta appeal to kids. That's why they have that nutty doc with that crazy smiley mouth of his :sadnew:

Nice set altogether. For me, the gold-buttoned fireman is THE Town Fig, and has a double role as a guardian soldier (equipped with proper headwear and a musket). the Octan-guys face is a pure classic too, since (I think) the pointy mustache was one of the first additions to "eyes and smile" -pattern. I quess dr. Frankenstein is there just to demonstrate what eventually went wrong in minifig evolution... I still wonder who hired that guy to Coast Watch  ...

Too bad there's no girls (in this collection), but then again, Lego female/male minifig ratio is probably closer to 1 in 40 then 1 in 4.

Wow, 2002 is sooo vintage.

Seriously though, I like the look of this, especially the classic space torso, as I have none.

Thank you very much for that sweet info, hewman, and thank you also, legomilk, for mentioning this great new set

in the Buy, Sell ... forum.

I think that´s a really really great idea of TLC, a marvelous homage and a beautiful gift to all AFOLs. :cry_happy:

And since there´re more interesting MFs in that set than only our beloved Classic Spacer, I think that this news belongs

even more into the LEGO News & General ... forum. I even think that idea´s so cool it deserves to become frontpaged, if possible.... *oh2*:sweet:

First reaction: ooooh, minty new red space suit

Second reaction: wait, volume 1 is 1 space guy and then 4 town guys. So 2 will be 1 space guy (white suit) and 4 castle guys. Volume 3 will be 1 space guy (yellow suit) and 4 pirate guys. I'll have to spend an awful lot of money and get a bunch of guys I don't really want to get any sort of numbers of the cool space suits. Arggghhh.

Of course if volume 2 ends up being Space: 1 white-suited classic, 1 Blacktron, 1 Yellow (or Blue) Futuron, 1 Space police II, and 1 Insectoid I'll eat my words happily as Lego eats my paycheck.
