yorkiejim Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 (edited) Hello All, Well, we all know that august is comming soon, and i have slowly collected a large amount of funds for my next large project, a large Clone Wars based task force! i just want Your Guys opinion on what i should include! i really dont care to much about how much it costs as long as it is not rediculis (im not Going to go and spend a cars worth of money in one night ) anyway Im planning to make an extremly large layout so im just wondering what should be included, Everything from the Jedi to the amount of gunships on the battlefield can be suggested! thanks guys! Oky Posted June 8, 2008 Posted June 8, 2008 It really depends on the location, the odds, and the kind of the battle. But generally, the following would be my vision of a well equiped giant CW battle scene: Vehicles 1 RGS, 1 AT-TE or Turbo Tank, 1 Droid Gunship, 1-2 MTTs, 1-2 Homing Spider Droids, 1-2 TX-139 Fighter Tanks, 1-4 AT-APs, 1-4 Hailfire droids, 1-4 AATs, 1-4 Scout Walkers, 2-6 STAPs, 2-6 speederbikes Soldiers 1-8 Droidekas and/or Spider Droids, 1-8 Shock Troopers and/or Star Corps Troopers and/or Jet Troopers, 1 droid & 1 clone comander (Cody or Rex), as many droid & clone pilots as needed, and as many standard clones, battle droids, and super battle droids as you can get! Heroes General Grievous and 1-3 Jedi. It would be good if you could use the new Obi Wan and Plo Koon (and maybe also Kit Fisto)! You can change Obi's head if you don't like the cartoony face, but keep his clone armor! You don't need ALL these different things (or the full number of them) of course, but as many different vehicles or droids or clone divisions you have, the more variety it adds to your scene. And remember: these don't all have to be bought! Most of these vehicles and droids, especially the small ones, can be easily created as a MOC! So, get MOCing! As far as location goes, what big Clone war scene would you guys like to see, as i said its going to be huge, on about ten of those large gray Baseplates ( i might bring it to a convention later on this year) anyway, whatever you guys would like to see. i am currently gathering clones and droids ( I bought out all the battle packs at a local TRU), anyway i am seeing this as a project that will take till the end of summer (someone at a local theater is interested and would like to see the final product for a diplay in said theater!), so i have been EBaying and Bricklinking to gather supplys, i currently have a couple of RGS's on hand and i am holding out for the new at-te's, turbo tanks are comming in the mail, and AT-APs are ready (3 I think), before i make Brick orders I need a specified location. so have fun suggesting events of the clone wars. Oky Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 Well, Felucia is always an interesting setting with all the colorful alien flora and all, but but would look weird on grey baseplates. So how about something like the Battle of Mygeeto or the Battle of Coruscant? I don't think that AT-TEs fit into either of those settings though. I need to watch SW: CW one more time, then I might be able to tell you better examples... Btw, how do you manage to catch the interest of a theatre? I'm so jealous! Quote
yorkiejim Posted June 9, 2008 Author Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) Just a side note: the Gray base plates will not be showing when its finished(it will be covered in layers of bricks and plates to make hills and foliage, not a single gray spot will be left), i just want to here some suggestions before i decide, so i can tell what bricks to order ( green, brown, tan, sand red). just doing some planning before i start. Well, good luck with that! I'm even more excited to see the end result now! Anyway, I would definately go with either green or tan bricks! I still think Felucia would be great, but something similar to Geonosis would be cool too (Don't do Geonosis, though; those were Phase 1 clones and they didn't have AT-APs, Turbo Tanks or anything). As I said, once I have watched the CW cartoons again, I will have some more specific location examples! Quote

jifel Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 (edited) hmm, i say kashyyyk, and have a large tree platform with tons of wookies, and a catamaran and 3 fliers. add in a few trees with CTT scouts in it, and have loads of snail tanks with lots of droids. id sugest old droids, as they may be cheaper, and came with the snail droids. other than that, build yellow/tan around several 2 stud wide gaps with no bricks on them, and have this be a trench for the 100 wookies and clones. and dont forget to get a LULS luminara undula, but replace the LU arm with a normal one, and get tons of droids and moc a droid gunship or two. that would be sweet! jifel Edited June 10, 2008 by jifel Quote

( by the way guys i know im new here but im not new to the brick, just internet forums , ill try to post some of my older stuff soon to give you guys an idea of how experianced i am.) ps: i diddint see that game vader, italy really lost? But there appears to be a rule nobody ever heard of - a injured player lying beside the goal (outside the field that is!) does count when it comes to the decision if its offside or not. STUPID! not even the players knew that rule and it doesn't make any sense at all Quote
