Inertia Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Here's a High Elf Glaive thrower I made up from a Cybran Hunter Moc I had built a while ago... (Cybrans are a Race from the game Supreme Commander, for those who don't know) Front view with the two crew, this piece of Siege weaponry fires glaives, made from 4 of the new Skeleton swords... I still have to make it really fire, for the moment I was going for Displayability other than Playability... The two crew, these two are subjected to be updated when my Brickforge order gets here... For the Moment Dwarven helmets will do. Side view, the front two wheels are protected by the sideskirts. Rear view, the Glaive was blowing in the wind, sorry for the blur... Final, side on view of this piece of Siege Weaponry, this time, the glaive isn't moving, hurrah! The glaive, showing how this weapon is constructed. Thanks for viewing my MOC, C and C appreciated! Dwarvenlord Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Wow, that's pretty awesome! I like the way you used the skeleton swords. The colours are nice and especialy your elven figures are very neat! Good use of the Dwarvenhelmets! Quote
Toa_Of_Justice Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 When I first saw the title of this topic, I thought someone built a launcher for my Krull Glaive MOC. Your MOC reminds me a lot of 8873 Fireball Catapult, but of course your creation is much better than that set. I especially like the armor around it -- I think that if the LEGO Group does make an Elves line, they should use your style. Great job! -Toa Of Justice Quote
Norro Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 That's quite an ingenious wee MOC. Great work and thanks for sharing! God Bless, Nathan Quote
zero1312 Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Nice, the use of the swords is quite ingenious. Quote
Inertia Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 (edited) Thanks, Dwarvenlord, I'll update as soon as I get my Brickforge items, yet I do like the Dwarven helmets, as they are shiny and elf like... Thank you, I thought it up while drving the siege ram, which was this without the glaive, through my Skellies.. Edited June 18, 2008 by Inertia Quote

You're welcome! Perhaps you could devise a mechanism similar to the one in 8873 Fireball Catapult, and put a lightsaber blade in the center of your glaive to mimic the projectile from that set. -Toa Of Justice Quote
Adam Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Nice ! I would've thought that Elves would have lighter Forestmen Colors instead of red and brown, but it looks cool anyway. Good jpb ! Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Very neat! But I believe glaives are long spearish weapons with a (usually)yard long blade at the end. In the Lord of the Rings, Gil-Galad, the Elven High-King, has a glaive called Aiglos. The Elves of the Last Alliance(Fellowship, first scene) also had such glaives. That's why their shields had two holes on either side, so they could stick the glaive through and stab the enemy behind a shield. But all the same, it's a great concept and no doubt a deadly and fearsome weapon in battle! Quote
I Scream Clone Posted June 20, 2008 Posted June 20, 2008 Nice little design there. That would make a good small/medium set for elves. Good to see it has some armour on the front, as im sure elves dont consider themselves cannon fodder! Quote

These Elves are based on the Blood Elves and High Elves from the WarCraft series, as their colors are red, brown and white for their buildings. Very neat! As I said earlier, I just really got an Idea from the Night Ef glaive thrower from WC III, but it is extremely hard to put a three bladed glaive into Lego form, I was trying for a few hours... Thanks, I will include it into a battle as soon as I get my Bricklink order in. Nice little design there. That would make a good small/medium set for elves. Thanks, the Armor also doubles for an awesome bulldozer blade, yes, I hope we see something like this in 2009, but not a Catapult. Quote
iamded Posted June 22, 2008 Posted June 22, 2008 Very neat MOC, my first thought was the WCIII Glaive Thrower, but this is also very cool. A neat colour scheme and the minifigs look very cool. ~Peace Quote

Maybe I should of changed the title, anyway, If you've played a Blood Elf WoW character, you can see all these Blood Elf Ballistas around, they sorta look like the MOC. Thanks again! Quote
Tom_castlefan Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Looks bulky, but at the same time very elvish. Nice minifigs also. Tom Quote
