Hi guys, today I will be reviewing Lewa Phantoka! Bought from TRU, I thought this set was an interesting concept. And yes, I built it on the grass. Take that, darn lego warnings at the beginning of the manual! Well, anyway, let's move on with the review. :classic:

Set name: Lewa Nuva

Number: 8686

Pieces: 52

Price: Was $9.99, now $12.99

Colors: Lime green, trans. blue, silver, black, red, trans. lime green, blue, gray, black.

Allegiance: Toa

Series: Phantoka

Box:

Well, I pretty much explained the box in my review of Antroz(link at bottom of post). The only difference is the plastic piece is lime, and Lewa is the main picture.

Okay so here we have the new parts. The mask which is a normal metru mask, with longer + rod for the visor, the Midak skyblaster, sword, jetpack, and the new joints.

Build:

First we start off with the torso. It's your basic toa inika torso. This is okay, however, with long arms and legs, this kind of torso looks kinda awkward.

dscn0267.jpg

Adding on the legs is nice. They sport a design similar to lesovikk.

dscn0268.jpg

Next we come to the arms. they are similar to the legs, but not a lot. The sword is AWESOME, and has great detail. The midak blaster is okay, but I prefer zamor launcers, as they are a bit smaller. However, this would look great as the weapon for a base gate or something like that for a playset.

dscn0269.jpg

The finished product is something to talk about. He is something like Lesovikk, and the original Lewa Nuva in a strange way. However, he has tons of poses, and I can ony find one thing wrong with him: His feet. They are too high and make him seem like he's wearing high heals.

And an action pose:

"Lewa in his natural element."

---------------------------------

Parts: 8/10(average for a toa nowadays.)

Price per part: 7/10(average for bionicle)

Playability: 9/10(action figure)

Color: 8/10(Too much gray, but lime and gray mix well.)

Overall: 80% 32/40

Overall I'd say this is a nice set, and I recommend it, with a :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: out of 5 thumbs up!

MAN! You guys have it bad in the US! Every box has to be plastered in warnings!

Why do they have so many warnings? I thought Americans were careful. Perhaps Lego misjudged you

I've also got this set and it's the only Bionicle I've got this year.

I would say the weapons are always improving (except for that horrible squid launcher) and the sphere launcher is the best.

I managed to get the launcher to fire across my hallway (it's quite big) so it's pretty powerful.

I really like the light green colour scheme. I'll have to get the evil Mistika to match Lewa!

Sadly, for every warning you see on one of our boxes, there has been an injured kid with an angry mother who demanded that warnings be posted.

Lol. Oh well. The can isn't the most important part of the set. Soon they will put choking hazard on zamors themselves!

Great review.

However, how did you do the action pose?

It's like he's in mid-air, and I can't even see a string!

Again, great review.

I just wrapped his sword around the tree trunk and put his feet on the main trunk. Thanks!

Thanks for the reveiw! But my radiak would beat your..what ever it is anytime :devil:

Thanks! And I have an antroz... Radiaks big friend. Together they would probably eat lewa...

There's not much to the set I like, but oddly enough the part I do like is the silver blade.

I guess it looks more ferocious and swordlike as opposed to some of the wonkier techno-babble types commonly seen.

No surprise of course that the set only includes one of them.

DAMMIT, LEGO... I'M ON TO YOU!

Well, look at it this way: The half way decent Takanuva has three on his staff if I'm not mistaken.

You build on the grass!?

Only sometimes. Since he is a toa of air I figured it would be suitable.

Hey man, some of the best mocers out there build on the grass.

Take expert mocer Cajun, for instance. If I recall, he builds on the grass all the time.

It's fairly safe as long as you pay attention... ... ...though there was that ONE time... http://www.majhost.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=119376

Ewwwww......... :sick::tongue:
