Duke Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 144b Behold the volcano Island. In the heart of this calm and pleasant Island is a firery volcano.. and that volcano demands a sacrifice This was my first attempt at using SNOT for water. I think it came out ok.. The rest of the GALLERY. Comments welcome. Quote
WhiteFang Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 This is a very nice MOC! The overall building is nicely layout. The small hill is really very nice, and I find that the yellow bricks, to illustrate a sandy beach. It certainly pass the message well across. The steps, up to the hill, is done in a very neat manner. Perhaps, too neat and well arranged. It will be even better to add in moregrass or green by the side of the stairs to show a much messy look. For your first attempt on your SNOT building. It's really very good by showing one of the Islander, hunting for fishes. Using the koi, is a smart move to illustrate the fish jumping out of the river. The volcano looks abit small, and dormant. It looks like a fire pond. I am not saying it does not look nice. In fact, I find it very well design, to punish trespassers, by forcing them to jump into hot larva. Thanks for sharing. Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 A enjoyable MOC to say the least! great work. I can easily see a few stories coming from this layout. I like the steps but agree that one or two plants to the side of the sets would improve it. I laughed when i saw the monkey, i has assumed monkeys would be the villagers friends... obviously i was wrong Regards Cpt. PB Quote
Wilhelm screamer Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 I have to agree with WhiteFang on the lava. It looks too calm and not bubbly/about to erupt enough. But this still beats the !#@$ out of any thing I could make. Islander stereotypes both On And OFF ! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 20, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 20, 2008 If pirates are coming back, this would be an awesome set. It might be a bit too expensive, but still I would buy it. Wonderful work Duke! I love everything about it. The entire landscaping is brilliant. And the inside of the volcano is very well done. I wouldn't want to be sacrificed and thrown in this volcano of yours. I also think it's time you get a MOC-expert tag Quote
Duke Posted July 20, 2008 Author Posted July 20, 2008 Thanks for appreciation guys, And really i'm very flattered by the MOC expert tag! :) Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted July 20, 2008 Posted July 20, 2008 Nice work Duke, your water came out fine! I agree with Boney here, it would make a great set if pirates were ever to return! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 21, 2008 Governor Posted July 21, 2008 Errrr... Exactly where is the volcano part? It just looks like a rocky outcrop. Nonetheless, it looks awesome so I'm flagging it as frontpage material! Quote
Eurobricks Emperor Bonaparte Posted July 21, 2008 Eurobricks Emperor Posted July 21, 2008 Errrr... Exactly where is the volcano part? Need glasses? Here you see all the hot lava and flames inside this evil volcano! Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 21, 2008 Governor Posted July 21, 2008 Need glasses? Here you see all the hot lava and flames inside this evil volcano! No, I need a faster and more reliable Internet connect. That picture didn't load and it's not the first time a picture hasn't loaded after I've asked a question like that. Quote
