Faramir Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 Here's one more Post-Apoc Moc I made right after my helicopter one right here This one isn't really zombie, but more alien, really. All feedback is appreciated as always Quote
Asuka Posted August 31, 2008 Posted August 31, 2008 That´s a cool idea with these different legs. The whole MOC´s a distinct alien-like feeling to it. That big grey wheel for the front looks also good, and the trans red works well for some color accents. A creepy work, in a good way of course! Quote
Adam Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 SHAME ON YOU! It is not zombie ! Oh! Great MOC, Faramir . Quote

Sandy Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 It looks awesome, but I'm not sure what constitutes it to be called "post-apocalyptic". To me, it looks just downright sci-fi. What I understand of the term "post-apoc" is that it has makeshift creations out of anything at hand. Batbrick's IA with the church-come-prisons is a perfect example of this. Your creation, no matter how well done it is, just doesn't have that kind of a rugged, "junk metal" feeling to it. Quote

You misunderstant the meaning of "post-apoc". That term doesn't represent this "junk metal" as you describe, it is exactly as the phrase is: after an apocoalypse. Basically, a "post-apoc" creation symbolizes a group (or groups) of creatures trying to survive after the apocalypse. Whether or not they're fighting, terrorizing, or someting else, if it has to do with that theme, it's still post-apoc. So, it's not just "anything out of hand." I'm not trying to offend anyone, but based on definitions of both "post" and "apoc", this is the solution I've emerged with. Quote

Yes, I'm aware of what you said, but I wasn't talking about the story behind your MOC, but the actual structure of the MOC. Frankly put, it looks too polished and neat to be made in an after-apocalypse environment, in my opinion. But again, it's not to say I don't like how it looks, because I do. Quote
Faramir Posted September 3, 2008 Author Posted September 3, 2008 Yes, I'm aware of what you said, but I wasn't talking about the story behind your MOC Not to take credit all for myself or anything, but this is actually my MOC... I guess I meant it as more of an "Apoc" MOC than "Post-Apoc." I kinda built it to be an alien robot that goes around destroying everything, so I guess you're both kinda right. Quote
Sandy Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 Not to take credit all for myself or anything, but this is actually my MOC... Oh! I'm so sorry! I just automatically assumed that the one I was arguing with was the topic-starter, without even checking the names. I'm so embarrased now... Quote
Adam Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 It's OK, Sandy, I just like to argue with everyone. I forget to check the names too, now and then, and it ends up as a mass of humiliation. Faramir, I guess it is sort of "Apoc", but it can also be "Post Apoc". There can still be aliens (NO ZOMBIE?! ) after the apoc., perhaps a patrol walker surveying the damage delt. Quote

Keep asking for zombie and a certain walrus will find pieces of you scattered all over his bucket... Thanks for supporting my original title, you should be my lawyer! Quote
