A troll taking a bath - classic. :classic: Overall, a lot of creative ideas are woven throughout this MOC (many that I will now have to use in my LEGO sets!). A large range of minifigs and differing landscapes create an image that is both balanced and interesting. Nice work, indeed.

This is great!

Lots of activity going on in this, along with all the details; you have a fantastic MOC here. I enjoyed the Orc in the bathtub, which I would never do, but I like it. This is also a great stepping stone. You have a lot of options for expansion if you so choose. Very nicely done!

I love the liveliness of this scene! Like everybody has said, it has so many fun details in it! One could get lost just staring at it for quite a while... It feels a bit cramped, but on the other hand that's part of the charm of it. If you continued expanding from what you got there, you could make something truly spectacular!

It's very refreshing to see a Castle MOC that doesn't include fighting and warriors, but just everyday life of the common people. Great job!

The tavern is great, the trees are cool, all of the villagers populate the scene really well! I really like the design of the pathway too.

The bridge is cool as are the details in the water. A suggestion for the SNOT river would be to turn it around, as this side is obviously the best to photo from, or to turn it side on which is always trickier but not impossible.

Im still not sure on the red highlights but they def stand out, which is the point, yes?

Certainly an impossing wall for a Castle.

Oh and those bubbles aren't staying clean for too long with an Orc in the bath tub

Cheers

EDIT: I just saw the shifty bar tender, Nice!

Very nice. The picnic table is good, and the river is very detailed. I like the fisherman, and the people just walking around outside the castle gates. The tavern and bath were nice touches, although a human in the tub would have been better than the orc, since orcs don't take baths . The forest was cool too, with the travelers. However, I don't like the four guards posted by the gate, it gives a sort of darkness to the whole thing. Like Sandy said, this is a nice change-up from the regular war Castle MOCs.

That's a nice detailed MOC. I like the stall particulary, but I think it'd look better selling chicken, the gems look kinda wierd, maybe just some round 1x1s in diffrent trans colors, with a dark grey stud on top for potions?

Very nice scene, looks alive and active with all the different minifigs. I can't help but notice quite a lot of them are what seems to be lefthanded...

The tree on the castle side of the river looks a bit... oh it's hard to describe, but sucha a large trunk would benefit from more greenery. Trees are really hard to do I think so I have no real tip to provide. Also, I like the use of red for color on the walls. Looks good :)

Dear Duke,

beautyfull little scene you made there.

I like the overall relaxed atmosphere of the picknick.

The Orc in the batch thub and the dwarf having a drink, nice!

I see you used dark brown for most of the trees. Was this done to give it an

overall darker appearance?

Kind regards,

Teddy

Quite a snotty MOC. I especially like the snot technique you used for the water of the river. The wall looks very good. I also like the tavern and the orc taking a bath plus the trans-clear pieces you used as bubbles. I think your MOC could be expanded easily. I hope you'll do this if you have time. I'd love to see that scene grow. Good work!

I think this is great overall.

I love the bridge, that particular tile technique has been popping up a lot lately, guess I'll have to try it.

The hustle and bustle of the everyday life you've depicted is what gives this moc it's charm.

Keep it up hope to see more.

I find this MOC very nice, my favorite part is probably all the random things in the river. The bridge over it was also well made, but that's not saying everything else wasn't! Other things that I'll praise are the scenery, the peasants, and the inn thing. My only suggestion is that you should have used blue instead of red, in my opinion. Since you are using Crown Knights as the guards.

Great scenery.

I really like the way you did the water

A lot of action going on...guess I'll have to take some time looking at all the details.

Thanks everyone for the nice comments, i'll just adress a few of them which had questions in.

EDIT: I just saw the shifty bar tender, Nice!

Very good point about the SNOT river, When I was building it I didn't have a photographic angle in mind but then I suppose I gradually moved towards the one I took and then when I came to take the photos I was too busy trying to stop blur to notice that you could see the river side :sceptic: (One of the plants has also fallen over!)

The red highlights are an attempt to break away from having a huge grey wall without using the mottled technique which I normally employ. Then I thought it would be a nice touch to continue them onto the bridge too.

That's a nice detailed MOC. I like the stall particulary, but I think it'd look better selling chicken, the gems look kinda wierd, maybe just some round 1x1s in diffrent trans colors, with a dark grey stud on top for potions?

It would be great to have a food stall instead, but unfortunately all of my food pieces are already in that MOC since I have only one piece of chicken and a couple of apples. Certainly something i'd like to try in the future though. I suppose my idea for the stall was that it was a perfume stall rather than a potion one and hence the gems on top seemed to fit well into that idea.

I know what you mean about that tree.. and really all of the trees! I have quite limited brown parts and I find it very difficult to convey a realistic tree appearance. Ideally I could use some inverted slope pieces.

Hi Teddy, thanks for the comment. I'm afraid the dark brown of the trees was less of a stylistic choice and more due to part limitations. Dark brown is the only brown in which I have all of the arch pieces and slopes like that. However, if I had had the same options in other browns I feel that I would have used dark brown since I wanted to convey a dark forest opposing the brightness of the castle scene.

I'd love to expand the MOC though at this stage it's not all that possible. It certainly couldn't be any wider since I have no more green bases and no more blue bricks. It would be possible I think to go further back into the town though.
