SlyOwl Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Some of you may have seen Micahberger's fairy a while back; it seems a little big for my liking, so when one of my hummingbirds went wrong...well y'know... Anway, these guys are soooo fun to build, and the colour-combinations can be awesome; I just need some more feathers and horns in different colours... Quote
El Bucanero Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 That's .... interesting!! But what is it? Not to be blunt, but could you please post a inspiration picture? I've honestly never heard of a Likkle Fairy before. Quote
SirNadroj Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Those are cute; and your photography is really nice. Quote
Shoc Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 I think the original larger fairy is cool, and your photography is good, but the only bit that looks like a fairy on yours is the wings... Um, what are the other body bits meant to be? :skull: Quote
JopieK Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 well I like it, it is the idea that counts with LEGO most of the time... Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 After a while i did get it, it sort of puzzled me. Though it is pretty clever, i have to say i like Micah's better. Perhaps if there is a way to make the hair go down instead of up it would look better, it looks like a spiked helmet a bit now. Micah's also gives the idea of arms and a dress wich i really like. Just my 2 cents... Quote
Manta Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Cute, if I had some feathers I'd make a few. Quote
JimBee Posted September 7, 2008 Posted September 7, 2008 Looks good! The blue one reminds me of the Fairy from Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Quote
Scouty Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Do the Fairies shoot water to move?? They're cute . Quote
JINZONINGEN73 Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Not to overshadow yours, but how are Micahberger's constructed? Mainly, how is the neck attached and what part (Clickits?) are the wings attached to? Quote
Batbrick Posted September 8, 2008 Posted September 8, 2008 Not wanting to offend, but I think it is a little too unlike a fairy for my tastes. Like the Lego fruit, sometimes I think I'll take it oversized a little but with a better quality. Micahberger's has the dress quality and is far more recognisable, but I wish you luck in trying to find the perfect fairy formula! Not to overshadow yours, but how are Micahberger's constructed?Mainly, how is the neck attached and what part (Clickits?) are the wings attached to? I am also curious as to how he does this. Batbrick Away! Quote
SlyOwl Posted September 8, 2008 Author Posted September 8, 2008 I guess this is like Marmite - either you love it or you hate it! I've honestly never heard of a Likkle Fairy before. Likkle is a mis-pronounciation of Little; just in my general style of not using real words all the time... I think the original larger fairy is cool, and your photography is good, but the only bit that looks like a fairy on yours is the wings... Um, what are the other body bits meant to be? The horn is the body and the hand...well it just looks right to me. Do the Fairies shoot water to move?? I don't have a trans one Not to overshadow yours, but how are Micahberger's constructed?Mainly, how is the neck attached and what part (Clickits?) are the wings attached to? It's a Clikits "donut" piece; a stud-width hole in the middle, but bar-width wide. Not wanting to offend, but I think it is a little too unlike a fairy for my tastes. Like the Lego fruit, sometimes I think I'll take it oversized a little but with a better quality. Micahberger's has the dress quality and is far more recognisable, but I wish you luck in trying to find the perfect fairy formula! I spent an enjoyable Chemistry lesson today drawing fairies on my test, but none of them were particularly inspirational parts-wise But it's not my main project, so it'll be sidelined for the time being...
