I recently mailed TLC and asked if the 4999 is going to be officially sold, and I got the following answer(in Swedish, english translation will come if you scroll down):

Kim HoltonLEGO Direct

Translation into English:

Hi Dennis, thank you for contacting LEGO Direct. The 4999 product is at the moment an exclusive product created for the Danish power plant Vestas.

We haven´t heard if this product will be released as a normal LEGO product at the moment, but with the large request that we get this is quite possible.

You can go to www.LEGO.com to see all our newest products. The website is updated as soon as we get the information ourselves, and you will be the first to get the information about our new products if you go to this site.

Best regards

Massproduction would require Vestas to agree...

This never happened with the Maersk line of sets, I sadly can't see why it should happen now.

The Vestas windmill is going for some 400-800 USD on Danish auction-sites.

Good luck to all of you who want this one badly

I will sadly have to contradict you on this matter. In the December 2005 issue of Shop@Home on page 33 they list product number 10152 Maersk 2005 Sealand for sale. Also who knows since Ferrari and Volkswagon have allowed it.

And I stand corrected.

Maybe it's just my mind playing tricks on me.

Thank you very much for that information, Dennimator! :sweet:

I really, really hope that TLG will release this set for the public, too, since it's totally awesome. It's - after the amazing 10188 Town Plan - the best (City) set which TLG has ever released. And - like already mentioned before - TLG and Vestas would be crazy if they don't put it into mass production since they could make much money of it. When Vestas gives their members this set as a gift Vestas and Lego themselves have no credit when these members then sell this brilliant set for utopian prices at ebay since Vestas and Lego don't get this money. But if they sell it for the public then they'll have the possibility to make a lot of money.

Just today I emailed TLC to ask if they are considering to produce the windmill for the general public too. I think the more people ask them that question, the more likely it is that they really do it. Just my thoughts. Don't know if it really helps. :sceptic:

Yea, that´s partially what I thought too, so my suggestion is that everyone that wants this set emails TLC that question(if you haven´t already done that).

You can click here to mail TLC. You can also phone them.

Best regards
