Olog Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Movie: Back: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Olog/Hep...smallerback.jpg another pic: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Olog/Hep...us/pictorrr.jpg The "Hephaestus" was built in 1705. It participated in three major battles, including the dreaded charge on Paris. It's purpose was to provide devastating fire with it's medium sized double Howitzer cannon. Situated behind the armies first line which was composed of lighter clockwork machines, it could shell trenches and bunkers or quickly disable similar sized machines. -Before my dark age, I used to be a huge technic fan. It's odd how I completely forgot an ignored this in my MOCs for the past two years. This is my first motorized creation, and I wanted to give the same quality exterior that I'd give something that is purely aesthetic. Also, I've really been itchin' to build something that walks. Oh yeah, and the walking mechanism is based on Theo Jansen's walkers, although with some modifications. - I really wasn't sure where to post this, but since it's theoretically from the past... Zorro Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 I love your "walker". And I also lik the fact you put some "histocial" information next to it. and i love to see more of them. Quote
Teddy Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Dear Olog, I really like your walker! Are you planning to do more walkers? Or is this the only one planned for the time being? If you plan more I will be looking forward to it. If not, I'll just stick with watching the youtube movie of your current fantastic design. kind regards, Teddy Quote
Sir Dillon Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 Hey Olog, really great creation! It looks great, and that it actually can walk just puts it over the top. Steampunk creations fit better in the 'Other Themes' forum though, so I'll move it there. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted October 3, 2008 Posted October 3, 2008 (edited) Wow, great work Olog, your walker is fantastic! The creation looks great, I especially love the wooden tower and the flags protruding out of the top. It's great that the thing can actually walk too, it looks very imposing indeed. Wonderful creation, Olog, I look forward to seeing more from you in the future. Edited October 3, 2008 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
