I heard you guys are on a community castle building spree so I thought why shouldn't I join in. I came up with a blacksmith forge. I wanted to follow the guidelines but my 16x16 baseplates were hidden somewhere in the depths of my room so I built my own. Then I had to use 1x2 Technic bricks to connect different models but it looked very ugly so I removed them. I practically made up my own standarts, sorry for that. But I want to share it anyways..

We are in the castle of Crownie Kingdom where dwarf and human race lived together in peace until the evil orcs started their invasion on our villages. Then we had to make more swords and spears so that we could save our folks. Dwarves are known to be the best blacksmiths so the Crownie king spared a nice room for them to work. Unfortunately our dwarven blacksmith had a tiny little problem while he was eating his lunch. A silly mouse tried join the meal but does he have any luck? Will that hammer crush his poor bones? Or will he manage to get the nicely cooked turkey stick? We'll see !

I hope you like it, let me know what you think so I can improve the model and myself.

Notes:

Could admins please change the topic name to "A Dwarven Blacksmith in the Crownie Castle" please ?? (Thanks a lot IS !)

Its a thing of beauty cagri, no doubt about it, but for the Community build we are incorporating a Castle wall with modularity in built in an effort to link all creations.

I really like the tiling and the window design.

The fireplace is  keep it up.

Perhaps if you would like to incorporate it into the comm build you could simply add a castle wall on one side (see specs in the pinned topic)

Cheers ISC

really , really , really, awesome

full of details that are supposed to be here, I love the chimney ^^ above average for me !

I like this very much, the blacksmith is placed in a very real-feeling environment, the fireplace is neat and the 2 golden flags are placed in a good spot.

Maybe a few additional weapons could be added to show the dwarve is a blacksmith though, but in general you get a big  from me !

Poor little Mickey Mouse...you wouldn't kill Mickey Mouse, would you?? :oh3:

Keep up the good work !

Great work.

I know Í said it elsewhere as well.

I like that it looks simple, yet when looking closer one discovers a lot of small and very neat details.

Cagri, nice corner! It reminded me of the bigger version, in the Giant Castle Chess set of its 4 realms, and one of it is the Dwarves Realm. You have done very well, to illustrate its checker flooring, wall decorations, fireplace, the work station with its forging equipment and his WIP short sword in the bucket of cool water. It looks real nice. :sweet:

I think this is a lovely MOC, but to me it looks more like a living chamber in a castle than a smithy. Sure, there's the anvil, but the fireplace just isn't the right shape for molding iron. The floor tiling, the flags and the plate of food is also quite out-of-place there.

This is of course your interpretation, but in my mind a blacksmith's workshop is a more dusky, rugged place with lots of metal, heat and dust.

Hope you don't take my words the wrong way, because this MOC shows that you have a great technique, but it's just not that accurate for a smithy to me.

Thank you very much all, it's good to see that MOC posting is always nicely welcomed here. See you in an other creation!

It was indeed a living chamber Sandy, but we had to make more weaponry to fight against orcs. So we had to build more blacksmith forges, this room was turned into one:

Awesome work  . I really he stool and the bucket although I think trans studs would look better as water. It would be nice if you made some more rooms of the same size and joined them together.

Thanks mate! I already started another room, a room where all the "magic" happens. It's a little larger than the blacksmith forge though. But I'm missing tens of odd tiles, it may take a few weeks to complete. And I tried the water with transparent plates but it didn't look as good, I like pastel colours more.

Here's a picture of my next room, unfortunately I don't have any of the parts necessary to complete this. I couldn't find all of them in a Europeen store on Bricklink and I already had two orders open :( If anyone can help, please pm me.

Nice blacksmith shop, Cargi! The water bucket wit the sword dipped in is very clever, with all of the blue studs representing the suds.... The fireplace is undoubtedly the best part, especially the chimney. I also very much like the intricate wall designs. :sweet: An "outstanding" grade from me.

Very nice moc. I like the blacksmits room. I think it will be in a couple of weeks more black and dirty.

The magic room is also very nice. I hope the wizard will do the poor orc not very much pain. :cry_sad:
