Johnny 5 Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Click here to read about it. I think it would be a good idea, the other games always sold so well. Quote
Dadster Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Fantastic idea in my opinion! Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Hmmm - would they follow the movies and deal with Harry getting older ala' Star Wars? Or just have basic adventures where Harry and others complete quests spiraling towards a Voldemort battle at the end such as Bats gave us...? I'd personally vote for the Bats style, where Harry (alternately with Hermione and Ron and even teachers and Dobby helping) has to navigate his way through finding magical objects, gaining spells to use, riding dragons and brooms, and solving a mystery. Oky Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 (edited) Ooh! I hope this is true! That would be so awesome! The first Harry Potter game was nice, but not really fun. The idea of making one in the style of the new Lego games is fantastic! Also, just like the Indy and Batsy games, this would be a great way to end a beautiful theme like this! Fantastic idea in my opinion! Thanks for bringing this to our attention!Hmmm - would they follow the movies and deal with Harry getting older ala' Star Wars? Or just have basic adventures where Harry and others complete quests spiraling towards a Voldemort battle at the end such as Bats gave us...? Agreed! Man, that would be awesome! There are more than enough locations and characters they could choose from. Every character would have his/her own special abilities, and there would also be characters with magic powers and some without, just like there are force sensitive and non-force sensitive characters in LSW! Likewise, magic would be used like the force during the game. There would be platforming levels (Hogwarts; Forbidden Forrest; London; Diagon Alley; the Burrow; Ministry of Magic; etc.) and flight levels (Quidditch practice; Weasley Car flight; Flight on Buckbeak; First Task of the Triwizard Tournament; etc.) just like in the other Lego titles. However, there are seven books, so if they want to keep their tradition of five levels per story, they would need to cram 35 levels into one game, and I don't know if they could/would do that. But if it's too much, they could split it up into two titles and make twice the money. And then there is the issue of the dark tone of the last few books. But I don't think we need to worry about that. They made five levels of Temple of Doom after all. In conclusion: I can very well see this happening, and I would really like a game like that! Skelotic Posted December 4, 2008 Posted December 4, 2008 Didn't LEGO cancel the Harry Potter line though? If this does happen I will most likely buy it though. Quote
pr0visorak Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 It would be a good idea but I would not buy it, I personally dont like Harry Potter but it is a good idea... Quote
simonjedi Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 I'd love a free roaming LEGO hogwarts, based on the first 3 books/film. Like the recent EA games have been released as. I'd love a reboot of the HP franchise as well. Quote
Zarkan Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 (edited) I don't think I trust this rumor - after all, making a game without an actual new wave of kits to go with it seems a bit redundant. Sure, we still might be seeing new kits next year, but it's pretty unlikely now. Edited December 5, 2008 by Grevious Quote
Professor Flitwick Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Well, as much as I'd love it, I can't see it working. In LEGO Batman you had mugs/thughs/crooks wandering around to fight aginst, with Indy you had the Nazi's and Star Wars had Clones/Droids around each corner, whereas in Harry Potter all I can think of is ghost (unkilable), haunted suits of armor (see ghosts) and Death Eaters (which didn't step out of the shodows till the end of book five). Plus what of levels? For example Philosopher stone, there probably be 1. Gringotts Bank, 2. Quidditch parctase, 3. Grifindor vs. Slytherin, 4. Grifindor vs. Hufflepuff, 5. Through the trap door and 6. Professor Quriell. In conclusion, I'd love it. Do I think it'll happen: No. I'd love a reboot of the HP franchise as well. Amen, brother, Amen. Quote
Pencoin Posted December 5, 2008 Posted December 5, 2008 Were doomed... This, and it could also mean LEGO Batman 2... Doomed... Quote
SWMAN Posted December 6, 2008 Posted December 6, 2008 I am not a big fan of the Lego Video Games. I think the controls are hard to use to the point that it makes the game stupid to play. Quote

user Posted December 7, 2008 Posted December 7, 2008 that would be awesome! i think the goblet of fire would be really fun to play all the challenges! Quote
Oky Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I'd love a free roaming LEGO hogwarts, based on the first 3 books/film. Like the recent EA games have been released as. I'd love that too, but as you say, that would just be rip-off of the EA games. I don't think I trust this rumor - after all, making a game without an actual new wave of kits to go with it seems a bit redundant. Sure, we still might be seeing new kits next year, but it's pretty unlikely now. True, but Lego Batman the Videogame and the discontinuation of the Lego Batman line went hand-in-hand as well. (R.I.P., Lego Batman. ) There is 0 evidence. I don't understand how threads like these survive. Easy: With hopes and dreams! that would be awesome! i think the goblet of fire would be really fun to play all the challenges! Agreed! Quote
samthelegoman1 Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 The had Lego Creator: Harry Potter edition for computers a while back, but it didn't turn out so good. This one might be fun, though. Quote
JCC1004 Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I heard about a possible Spiderman game, I'd like that better. It would only make sense if they started to release Lego Harry Potter again. I'd get some of them, I passed the first time. I'm not much of a reader, but I'll get it anyway.Still wish It'd be Spiderman. The Batman game came out just before they discontinued Lego Batman. Quote
puddleglum Posted January 30, 2009 Posted January 30, 2009 I really doubt it, as it has already been mentioned that the HP line is gone and the last set came out a year ago. Spiderman is even more unlikely, considering Megablocks now has the license. Quote
kakarothusain Posted June 16, 2009 Posted June 16, 2009 Nice to hear that another harry potter video game is there in the market.. I am definitely going to try it... Quote
