WhiteFang Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Hey everyone, I have put together, my first ever Snow Box Derby. I am not very familar with such games but I do have a lot of fun while building my entry, even though it look kind of wierd. This is my Snow Box Derby entry, Lunix Star. Brief Storyline Lunix Star, is constructed by dwarves engineers which were enlisted by Black Knights Kingdom for this special occassion. Lord Kenneth Valise, leader of WhiteFang will be the brave warrior that stand forth. Selected by King Nexus himself, Lord Kenneth was sent to compete in the famous TheBrickster Snow Box Derby competition. The King knew that Lord Kenneth will be facing with other strong contestants and this is the design which the dwarves engineers have come up with. Different angles of Lunix Star Side view The warrior, himself Pictures can be found in My Brickshelf.
Dragonator Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Now for my entry. Lord Dragonator is proud to present the Dragon Sled. Straight from the famous factories of Dratos city, the Dragon Sled combines all the aspects of the dragon to give a winning machine. Power, strength, ferocity, wisdom, and a beautiful streamlined exterior all add together to make this a machine to leave your opponents in the slush behind it. That and the huge flaming engine on the back. Did I list fair as an aspect? I don't think so. This premium snow box is one of a kind, and was specially commissioned by his Lordship, Lord Dragonator, to participate in the famous Snow Box Derby held by TheBrickster. It will of course be piloted by him in the event. Now let's take a look at the beast. SirNadroj Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 H.M.B. The Economy (His Majesty's Box) The Economy is made of a semi-stable cardboard box (because that's all I could afford). The Economy goes downhill at breakneck speeds, leaving a wake of destruction in its path. You don't want to have anything to do with The Economy. Look out below!
Erdbeereis Posted December 16, 2008 Posted December 16, 2008 Presenting my snow box! The Leftovermobile Erdbeereis1 rides down the slopes in his snow box decorated with last night's leftovers! Watch out for those cold pizzas, and trust me, you don't want to be hit with a flying apple or drumstick... A large base provides good stability, and a comfy seat with edible pastry is a must. More pictures on Flickr Thanks!
Batbrick Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Oh noes! It appears my Batbox has been infected with a curse! It has now become a wicked machine of pure steam powered malice! Vera, the Snow Box's name is, and she will crush you and your soul in this competition: TheBrickster, partner in the Men in Black/Nightmare Before Christmas team approves! Batbrick!
Corvus Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Make way for: The Basilisk Snow Droid! Feeling that they needed to conquer in something other than war, the Mandalorian army built the Basilisk Snow Droid, modeled closely from the Basilisk War Droid. Heavily armed, the Snow Droid can lower its head to blast enemies out of its way with repeating blaster cannons! Flexible arms serve as both tracks and war clubs! Fearing its awesomness, the Snow Droid has been banned from many Snow Box competitions- whose planets were promptly destroyed/conquered by the Mandalorians. Fear us!! (More pics here.)
Sandy Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Behold! Here comes the indomitable Snow Queen on her freshly customized sled, The Icenflame The sled is a perfect union of chilling ice and scorching fire, an artefact that can only be forged by the hands of the black dwarves. There is not a soul that could hold the reins of the Icenflame better than the Snow Queen herself. Of course, she let's her minion do all the dirty work for her, while she concentrates on looking beautiful and cruel. You shall shake in your pants, rival competitors!
VBBN Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 Okay, here we go! Apologies for the picture quality. Here it is, the V-Box. The two weapons at the front give it a devastating terror throughout the hill, and the sleek skis make it fly through snow like butter. Also, it has a large turbo boost at the back. You can see the boost here. The large spikes protect it from other Snow boxes hitting him. Note: THe skis are technic, and the one weapon is a Bionicle Minifig weapon. THe attahment of the skis keep them sturdy, AND can move left or right to turn. Enjoy!
Sir Dillon Posted December 18, 2008 Posted December 18, 2008 Make way for Spike the Snow Box! Prepare to lose! Or at the very least be seriously irritated.
WesternOutlaw Posted December 18, 2008 Author Posted December 18, 2008 The air suddently begins to chill... There's a wind blowing from the west. The smell of coal and sulfur begins to fill the air. Not generally seen during the day, it's TheBrickster's Snow Steamer that has come to take down all who oppose his wrath!
LuxorV Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Prepare to bite the snow: here comes the Snow Mouse! A shot of the cockpit (my fav pic ) Side view And, 3/4 view The name shoud have been the more evocative Cacciatore delle Alpi (Hunter of the Alps); alas, when my father saw it, he nicknamed it Snowmouse, in opposition to the Snowcat (he likes to mock my MOCs a bit)... KimT Posted December 19, 2008 Posted December 19, 2008 Given the fact that the Emperor uses almost all iron available for a "secret" project, I've had to suffice with some wood, a few chains and some metal feet from scrapped speeders. To increase speed, I've added some "horse power" and to make sure the "horse power" kept up to speed when going downhill, I added spikes . Works really well for motivation Front view: Side view: Driver (with his beloved Snowboxcar helmet) Gallery(when public)
Siegfried Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 WTS - Atlantis Sliding on snow and ice is nothing to a walrus, so they aren't satisfied with relying on mere gravity. That's why Sinner's is a converted space shuttle. 1,225,704 pounds of thrust would be too much for many creatures, but the thick skull of a walrus can handle anything. Note the handy bucket storage rack. Due to the Orbital Maneuvering System pods it's surprisingly nimble; 360 degree turns are possible! Thus this is the sled that will run rings around the rest! I did consider showing a view from the rear, but you'll be seeing plenty of that later...
Shadows Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Ye Olde Dirty Oar To me, a snowbox is all about using what you have on hand. In the case of an old pirate, that's a rowboat, a cannon, a festive sail and flag attached to a sturdy mast, a friendly parrot, and of course, a dirty oar. Lovely, Isn't she? The snowbox isn't bad either. Some of you may ask... how fast that she really go? Well, it's pretty simple. A couple of shots from that cannon, and we're hurtling down the mountain at an unbelievable speed. After that, it can be used to both maintain speed and steer, while helping to, uh, retire the competition. Then, when things are cruising along nicely, I can stare at her megablocks lovely lines. All in all, a pleasant way to spend a relaxing afternoon, wouldn't you say?
Captain Green Hair Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Voila, i give you the Rum rocket: The rum bottles i'm throwing at you are ofcourse empty. Wouldn't wanna waste good rum!
Scouty Posted December 25, 2008 Posted December 25, 2008 ImperialScouts (That's me!) presents his snow "box" (Really a sled) aptly to his signature figure, an Imperial Soldier! Huzzah! With two smooth cannons as the the "skis" and a large sail to provide extra pushing power, ImperialScouts (me) is sure to win! As an added bonus, BOTH cannons are loaded and can provide extra pushing power, plus the possibility to blow any opponents behind him to smithereens!!!
